Eagles tight end L.J. Smith reaggravated his sports hernia injury this morning during the beginning of the workout. He had to be carted off of the field
The Birds offerred few details about the injury but there's no question that it could be a serious development. Smith had practice in some live tackling plays a couple of days ago, but he didn't do anything yesterday. Today he came out to practice with the intention of taking his workout to the next level when reaggravated the injury and headed to the sideline.
Smith wasn't the only injury of note, rookie halfback Tony Hunt left the field early because an ankle sprain. Hunt has been doing a solid job backing up Brian Westbrook and Correll Buckhalter, but there's no word as to when he will return to action.
If you thought that was the end of all the bad injury news, Andy talked about All-Pro guard Shawn Andrews. Reid released a statement saying, "He was examined (Wednesday) by our team orthopedist, Dr. Peter DeLuca, and an ankle specialist in Philadelphia.."His right ankle, the same ankle which was surgically repaired during his rookie season, will continue to be monitored and evaluated over the next several days. He will rest it during that time with the use of a walking boot and crutches."
I don't know how that sounds to you but it doesn't sound good to me.
This story will be updated throughout the day.
I am commenting to let you know of the fine encounter my friend’s daughter found reading your site. She figured out numerous issues, not to mention what it’s like to have a wonderful giving mindset to have men and women quite simply have an understanding of selected hard to do subject areas. You really exceeded our expectations. Many thanks for giving the insightful, safe, explanatory and as well as easy thoughts on the topic to Janet.
