Word out of L.A. is that free agent forward Lamar Odom, who made major contributions to the Lakers Championship run, has put a call into team owner Jerry Buss in an attempt to get a previous contract offer reinstated.
Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak rescinded an 11-million dollar per year offer to Odom.
The veteran Laker forward balked at the offer, then he and his agent went on the market and realized that the Los Angeles offer was the best they're going to get.
He's now pleading to Buss to have the team put the offer back on the board.
I think the Lakers need Odom if they're serious about repeating.
He's not a number two scorer and he's not a number three scorer, but he could do the job as a number four behind, Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and Ron Artest. He might even be behind Andrew Bynum.
He's got a complete game and can contribute in a lot of ways when you don't have to get 15 points out of him every night.
