According to ESPN.com, two high-ranking Sixers officials met with face-to-face with Allen Iverson on Monday. The report says that there is more of a chance that “The Answer” will rejoin the Philadelphia team than not.
Sixers General Manager Ed Stefanski, head coach Eddie Jordan, assistant coach Aaron McKie and team assistant general manager Tony Dileo met with Iverson, his agent Leon Rose and longtime business manager Gary Moore on Monday
This meeting has led speculation that the reunion will happen.
The story claimed the Sixers are planning on making a move by next Monday when the team plays the Denver Nuggets.
Stefanski, Jordan and Comcast-Spectacor Chairman Ed Snider say that no decision has been made but that’s just their public face.
If something wasn’t going to be done, you can believe that the Sixers organization would have been out there killing the story. The fact that they’re not killing says a lot.
“All of us liked what he talked about today. I’m not going to share that,” Jordan said. “He’s a charming individual. It was really good, really intriguing.”
He wasn’t through with that, he continued, ‚ÄúHe‚Äôs a guy that‚Äôs been to the top, a guy that‚Äôs been to the finals, a guy that would be an extra weapon on the floor for us.”
I believe Iverson is headed our way. The city is talking about it and it’s the first time that city has been talking about the Sixers all year.
It’s going to be very interesting to see what happens between Iverson and Andre Iguodala.
Will Iguodala let Iverson take back over the team or will there be a battle for the leadership fo the squad?
Iguodala doesn’t think Iverson will be comfortable with the Princeton offense.
“The offensive system that we have is kind of complex so it might take him some time to adjust,” he said. “But just from a basketball standpoint, he can come in and play.”
Will head coach Jordan be able to get Iverson to come to practice and play team ball during the game?
The return of Iverson will be a breath of fresh air for the fans, but I don’t think it won’t be an easy transition for the basketball team.
Iverson is likely to expect superstar treatment even though he’s no longer a superstar.
I think it’s a good idea for the Sixers to bring Iverson back because it will give fans something to cheer for.
The team may win a few games more with Iverson as compared to without him but it won’t be a big difference in the long run.
