The Flyers have placed goaltender Ray Emery on injured reserve with an abdominal tear.  He is expected to be out six weeks or so.
He is scheduled to have surgery to repair a torn muscle in his lower abdominal wall.
Brian Boucher will get the start tonight against the Islanders, and the Flyers called up goalie Johan Backlund from the Adirondack Phantoms to back him up.¬† Neil Little wasn’t available?
Emery is 11-8-1 so far this season with a 2.83 GAA anda .901 save percentage.
