On Saturday the Eagles will have to make a tough decision regarding whether to use or not use a roster spot for Michael Vick who won’t be able to play for a number of games.
The reason the decision won’t be easy is the fact that if they don’t use a roster spot on him, he can’t practice with the team. If they do use a roster spot, he still won’t be able to play in the games but he will be able to practice with the team.
Surely the Eagles want him to continue to workout and continue his comeback, but are they willing to use up a valuable roster spot to accomplish that.
We will know on Saturday when the Birds make the final cuts to get down to 53 players.
Derrick Gunn of Comcast Sportsnet reported yesterday that there was a good chance that Roger Goodell would let Vick and the Eagles know on Friday when he would be able to play.
That information could weigh heavily into the Eagles roster decision.
