DISCLAIMER: The following image is unsubstantiated. I haven’t been able to locate any credible news source for where it originated. For the sake of discussion, though, an image of a potential Flyers Winter Classic 2012 Jersey has circulated the internet, and it is striking.
The jersey is a substantially different look from what the team has ever played with, aside from the color scheme. It is actually a throwback to the Philadelphia Quakers, the very first NHL team from Philadelphia in the 1930’s.
The Quakers only lasted one season, but for a “classic” game, it’s a fitting homage. I’ve read various criticisms of the potential look, but after awhile it’s grown on me. It’s similar to the jersey that the Calgary Flames wore in the 2011 Heritage Classic, but without the “McDonalds” theme to it.
EWWWWW!!!!!
hell no
Where’s Richards(Waldo)?
Looks like a Sweater that Ed Rendell picked out…
aw man ugly just keep the normal ones PLEASE!
LMBO! Where’s Waldo? CLASSIC!
I love the jersey, but I would rather see a black alternate like the current “throwbacks”……all black with an orange trim would be sweet
