I know Andy Reid and the Eagles want to trade backup quarterback Kevin Kolb, but I don’t see any way in the world that anybody could legitimately say that Eagles backup quarterback Mike Kafka is ready to play. He has a suspect arm and no NFL experience.
I think his arm fits the west coast offense, but he hasn’t done anything yet.
The young man has never gotten behind center in a regular season game, deciphered an NFL defense then made the adjustments to move the football. He might know the Eagles offense like the back of his hand, but that doesn’t mean he’s ready to run the Eagles offense.
I can understand why the Birds would express confidence in Kafka now, since they want to move Kolb, but I expect them to acquire a backup quarterback with experience if and when Kolb is traded.
Remember, watch what the Eagles do and not what they say. If they trade Kolb and acquire a veteran backup to be the number two quarterback behind Vick, it means they don’t think Kafka is ready just yet.
There is no way that Kafka is ready to be a #2 Back-up in the NFL, The Eagles know this, remember that he was a Mid-4th/5th Round Draft Selection last year and he needs 2-3 Seasons to develop (This lockout hurts a lot of 1 and 2 year players who are losing valuable time honing their skills and especially at QB and any other skill position… The longer the lockout continues, this will be considered a lost year in developing for Kafka and many of the other young players from last years Draft.. It’s like many of them will be starting over all over again., but the Eagles are not unique to this
a jeff garcia rumor will be flying once kolb is dealt.
Lol at Lewdoggie20…….. We’ll call him while he’s playing for Dennis Green in the UFL……… I think we should look at Tavaris Jackson…….. Or Luke McCown……. Both have great legs and can work within the westcoast system……. Troy Smith is another guy as well…… We need mobile qb’s…..
Randall Cunningham..
Rodney Peete
D. McNabb
J. Garcia
Mike Vick
Are qb’s who who have and had success in an Eagles uniform……. Not going to go back too far in history……. But in my era……. This was a solid group that had success within this franchise…….
Fighters fight? Thats my ace…Jeffy is welcome anytime in tri-state.
Kafka is mos def not ready…might trust him to win a game against a bum team but not gainst the Beast.
Mike looks primed…he plays all 16 this year with the cider blocks in front of him and Mudd guiding them.
Will these greedy s.o.b’s get a deal done. Goshdamn!!!
Imagine how our sports scene would be right now without the dominating baseball team?
Off the subject……. Much respect to B-Hop……. The guy is a warrior and he performs well during crunch time………. He doesn’t buckle under the pressure and when he lost fights that are very controversial…….. He bounces back and performs greatly….. He talks trash but backs it up……. This man can say things that make him look a little coo coo but the guy is an entertainer…….. Much Respect!!!!!
