Donovan McNabb says he wants to finish his career here in Philadelphia, bring a Super Bowl title to town and I believe him.
Finishing here would mean he gets the new contract which he wants and it also means that he will be playing well. In addition to that, it will mean the team is doing well.
What about all of the comments made on your behalf by Deion Sanders?
"Deion is a great guy, but Deion is not speaking for me," McNabb said.
You and I both know McNabb isn't in love with the city. he lives in Arizona during the off season and complains about the way he's treated by the fans here in Philly during the season.
I know McNabb wants a new contract and I think he will be a problem if he doesn't get it. I doubt that he will come out with a direct frontal attack on the Eagles if they don't give him a new deal, but he'll go out of his way to make sure everybody knows he's not happy.
I had long conversation yesterday with some people close to the Eagles and we went back and forth about whether Joe Banner will give him another contract. We wound up evenly split about whether he will get a new deal or have to play out the last two years.
McNabb was everywhere yesterday. He was on ESPN radio on the Mike and MIke show in the morning. Next up he was on the ESPN afternoon show with Mike Tirico. Finally he was on ESPN's Sportscenter.
That's a lot of talking and a lot of Harlem Globetrotters' humor. I've finally nailed it down, McNabb's humor is much like what the Globetrotter's do.
Most people don't find it that funny but little kids love it. Old people love it and people who don't speak english love it, but sometimes it gets on your nerves.
Blistering attacks on McNabb because of his humor is over the top.
On a side note: Warren Sapp accused McNabb of being out of shape for that NFC Championship game because he had a black band on around his arm. Sapp thought it was a band because McNabb had had an I.V..
Truth of the matter was, McNabb had a severe turf burn on his elbow.
