ProFootballTalk.com is reporting that the Eagles are shopping Pro Bowl right guard Shawn Andrews. The Birds, who were pleased with the job Nick Cole did at the right guard spot a year ago, aren't sure about Andrews going forward.
They are putting Andrews out there to see if they might find some takers. Andrews has had some dominating performances on video. If some of the player personnel people start looking at Andrews at his best, it might sway some opinions.
It also could be a preemptive strike while fearing Andrews may be ready to pull a "Sheldon Brown" since he's signed until 2015.
The Birds won't have a problem hanging onto Andrews if nobody bites but they might find a team that's ready to jump on the opportunity to obtain one of the best guards in the game when he's healthy.
The Eagles also know that Andrews could be a ticking time bomb. His mental state is solid right now but ti could be subject to change. We'll never forget the way he fell apart last year.
