Andy Reid was on 610-WIP this afternoon and he talked the Eagles pursuit of Anquan Boldin, Chad Johnson and Braylon Edwards.
Reid said he wasn’t sure how bad the Bengals wanted trade Chad Johnson, or how bad the Cards wanted to trade Anquan Boldin and how bad the Browns wanted to trade Braylon Edwards.
He said these teams seemed to be going through the motions rather than really wanted to make a deal.
According to Andy, the teams were trying to get more than what the Lions got from the Cowboys for Roy Williams. Of course the Lions got a first round pick, a third round pick and a sixth round pick for him.
You can't give up more than that for these wide receivers.
Reid said the Cardinals wanted even more for Boldin. Big Red said the Cardinals were asking for a ridiculous amount of compensation for the star wide receiver.
He said the Cards were showing them how Boldin’s stats compared with those of Jerry Rice at the same time in his career. Rice of course is the best wide receiver in the history of the NFL.
