Ranking NFC East “O” Lines-#3 Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys offensive line had been as dominating and consistent as any in the league a few years back but this past season was very disappointing.

By the end of last season, they had become a weak spot for the Dallas offense.

Dallas' feared running game was viritually non-existent when their season fell apart at the end.

The Cowboys' best offensive lineman is center Andre Gurode.  He may be the strongest and most athletic center in the league.  Gurode is one of the few centers in the NFL, who can handle a nose tackle by himself.

Guard Leonard Davis seems to still be at the top of his game, especially when blocking for the run.  He's as wide as any player in the league and can push anybody off the ball.  He could improve as a pass blocker.

The play of the tackles, Flozell Adams and Marc Columbo, fell off at the end of the season.  Of course that meant more pressure off the corner for quarterback Tony Romo.

Columbo just isn't that good and Adams may be getting near the end of the road.

Dallas won't be able to protect Romo if they can't run the football effectively.  Defenses get in a pass rush mode against teams that don't run the well.  A poor running attacks makes Columbo's and Adams' job nearly impossible.
