Every football fan in the NFC East knows that our Philadelphia Eagles are the best team in it, by far. They are jealous, they wish they could be us.
Fans of the other three NFC East teams only have one argument they can use against us this season and it is: “How many rings you got?”
Don’t put up with that argument Eagles’ fans. It is irrelevant during the season how many rings a team owns.
Let’s start with the biggest losers, Redskins fans. The Redskins last ring came in 1991, I am 24, I was four years old when they won it. Any fan in their early to mid 20’s is not allowed to use this argument because a 20-year-old Eagles fan and a 20-year-old Redskins fan has witnessed their team win the same amount of Super Bowls, ZERO!
If it is an older fan who could remember I enjoy using this line, “Sorry my distant memory slips me as I get older, but my recent memory can only remember the Redskins winning only one NFC East title in the past 20 years. “ If they want to talk about the Redskins history, inform the Skins fans of the team’s most recent history, also thank them for the second round pick they gave us for McNabb.
Next is the Cowboy fans, they are my favorite to trash talk with, mainly because they are so stupid. “We got five Super Bowls” Yes and the last one came in 1995. “Yea we still have rings though.” I find in Philadelphia most Cowboy fans are not from Dallas so my go to response is “Were you at the parade?”
They never are, to which I follow it up with, “Did you celebrate in your basement by yourself?” Did you line up your stuffed animals put them on hot wheels and parade them into your kitchen?” Of course this season Cowboy fans will rally around their mullet wearing defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, they will call the Eagles the all hype team which will set up the ultimate comeback, “Aw, what’s the matter jealous that your five Super Bowl rings from 16 years ago wasn’t enough to land Nnamdi?”
Finally the Giants fans, their team’s Super Bowl XLII win over the Patriots completely take away the argument of yeah you have Super Bowls, but they are ages ago. Luckily the Giants employed a punter by the name of Matt Dodge in 2010. No crafty comebacks needed against this group just a two word response, “Matt Dodge.” Hey, when was your last Super Bowl Eagles fan? “Matt Dodge?” Is that all you got Eagles fan? “No, we have a better team than you this year, but I guess when your current team stinks, you have to relive four years ago kids have gone to and graduated college since then.” Even though four years isn’t a long time ago, make it seem it.
This looks like it is our year Eagles fans. Don’t let these jealous losers ruin our season long celebration of perhaps our very first Super Bowl. Yes, for the most part our past does suck, but our future is way brighter than the three other NFC East team’s so focus on that, and remember if at loss for a thought at any point in an argument just revert to an E-A-G-L-E-S chant, it works every time.
Lets not get ahead of ourselves here, Jerry. Let’s be humble until we actually win something. it’s a long season.

And what part of Dallas are you from?They always talk about how they’re Dad or brother liked them(frontrunners themselves) and that made them fans.
My 12 year old son put it best….you dont live around “REAL” Cowboy fans….you dont get too watch them every weekend and your not supporting your hometown team.
Lets get a win week one and that will start us in the right direction.Ill say SB when theres 10 seconds left in the NFC Title game and Mikes kneeling on it.
No one is saying the Eagles are going to go all the way and win the Superbowl — but we do EXPECT them too. There’s nothing wrong with that.

I think we’re all excited and ready for the season but they have to perform on the field. A lot of new working parts that will have to get it together. And I’m sure we’re tired of other NFC fans saying “how many rings yall got” but at the end of the day that does matter. It’s irrelevant to the current season but at the same time, I’d trade 1 Superbowl season for a bunch of bad ones. And you have to look at it from all the other fans point of view. Many of us Eagles fans do a lot of talking when our team has continued to not win the big game in the past. So I can understand a fan saying “you guys haven’t won anything” but as a fan I can certainly understand us slamming other teams in their current state. In the end of the day, the team has to go out and perform. If they don’t win it all then we will get smashed. We all saw the Miami Heat. I remember all the trash talking about their “fans” after they lost. From facebook to all the sports blogs. So if they don’t win, we have to crawl back with our tails between our legs. My dialogue about any other team and our team has been no different than any other year. I haven’t said things like “we are going all the way” and we are the best team, etc…. A couple seasons ago the Cowboys were the best team on paper and early Super Bowl favs. Now, we are not them but we still have to put it together on the field and not on the depth chart.
I remember a Redskin fan shutting me up by saying the last time the Eagles won a championship….
TV was in Black and White.
I never forgot those barbs and can’t wait til the Eagles win their first Superbowl.
There are many new components, and usually it takes time for new players and coaches to gell. Even talented players have to know what their resposiblity on every play is.
So I am thrilled with the effort the front office has made this year. But championships are won on the field.
The lost to Minnesota at home with a number 2 playoff slot on the line shows that superior talent can be defeated by superior effort. On the coaches and players part.
But there is no harm in being happy now, and I am enjoying every player the Eagles are signing.
Let’s not hoist the trophy yet……Let’s see how andy deal with Gameday and whether or not Castillo can call games against superior coordinators.
Right now on paper we’re unmatchable….but if we bungle another 2 minute drill or have our timeouts wasted with poor clock management…..and can not get 1 freakin yard in the clutch..all these moves in the offseason mean nothing at all.
the front office did their part, so there’s no excuse for Reid. If what we are seeing is truly a change in the way we do business then we can personally hope this change transfers to gameday.
Sign Randy Moss and get Dawk back so we’ll have a defensive coach on the field.

ok..then when they double team him then it makes it easier for Cole & Babin or the linebackers….this isn’t a bad thing for the defense. Anytime that a team has to double team a player, it should be an opportunity for others on the defense.
Kris Jenkins was a load and one of the few players that could handle a Double-Team, but that was in his prime 3-4 Years ago when he played with Panthers.. Kris has had multiple injuries and surgeries the last few Seasons and has actually retired.. A combo of Dixon/Jenkins in the Middle is going to be tough for OL to handle.. and when Jenkins lines up at DE, he is so strong that an OT will probably need help from a TE or FB to help slow down..
WIth Patterson’s deal, I would expect Jenkins to play more DT and have Cole,Babin,Parker and Tapp as the first 4 players coming after the QB from the DE position ..
Terrance Newman injured again…Cowboys are really in trouble..DJax be schooling him anyway.

There is no point to ever speaking to a Cowboys fan who is not from Texas. I have a good friend who is a Cowboys fan, he was born there, lived here awhile and moved back, and I never had a problem with him. People who are from Philadelphia who do not root for the local teams are individuals with low moral courage and poor self-esteem. They are they guy sitting alone at the bar, watching everybody have a good time, who think to themselves ” I could be over there, but those people suck because of (insert reason here)” They are people you cannot trust. You cannot go to war with them, as they have proven to not be honorable. When you root against the local teams, you are removing yourself from the community in which you live, and have made yourself an outsider. The real truth is, the players come and go, even ownership groups. The Philadelphia Eagles exist and thrive only because the community supports them, due to a sense of shared expirience. The shared wins and losses, and that sense of community and family is what makes Eagles football what it is. Take out the binding aspects of it, what the Eagles achieve (or do not achieve) and it loses all importance. It is just 11 mercenaries crashing into each other on a field of grass. Persons who are Cowboys fans have set themselves in opposition to our community, they root for the their friends and neighbors to be unhappy, and are the darkest souls to inhabit our region. In order to combat their low self-esteem, they have had to indentify themselves with an entity which they believe to be successful, because they cannot feel good about themselves internally. But in the end, the joke is on them, by removing themselves from the community, they have given up the abilty to celebrate, commiserate and join with their fellow citizens. They are shallow and weak, and deserve nothing but your scorn, and yes, your pity. To steal from the Amish, shun these individuals who have decided to applaud your pain, and refute your joy.

Philadelphia is now being hated on because we are now operating differently and the league is use to us making mediocre moves. The Phillies started getting players to add to their nucleus and because of that, winning players want to come to Philadelphia to play for a proven winner…Now, the Eagles have struck in a buyers market. They have compiled exceptional players with bargain prices and still have room to spend…The Eagles are primed to win it all and the haters can’t stand it.
Why?
The Eagles moves does not just signify a one year run but a possible dynasty which players from other teams will jump ship to play with our coaching staff and exceptional talent.
This signifies a change into a champion…
If we win this year.. that alone can be the beginning of a dynasty.
