Adam Kaplan of Scout.com reports that the Eagles reached an agreement with fifth round pick, tight end Cornelius Ingram.
According Kaplan, he signed a four year deal for about $1.9 million with a $183,000 signing bonus. The deal won't be announced until Thursday.
The youngster is clearly going to be a major part of the Eagles plans. They have slated as the team's number two tight end and he'll be a major part of their red zone offense.
He's not showing any affects of the knee bruise which he sustained a week and a hafl ago. It was the same leg which he had knee surgery on in August of 2008 and was forced to miss the season.
Of course by guessing right that nobody else was going to select him before the fifth round, the Eagles saved a lot of money. If this kid pans out, the Birds will be paying him peanuts in comparison to other tight ends around the league.
