Do you remember a preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens that was canceled becasue the Veterans Stadium turf was so bad? That cost the Eagles $5 million dollars.
The Birds owed the city $8 million dollars in skybox money from 2000 and 2001. Mayor Michael Nutter had said numerous times that he wanted the Eagles to pay up.
The Birds said former Mayor John Street had cut a deal with them to cancel that $8 million dollar debt. Street denied he had ever cut such a deal.
So both sides headed to court.
Now it has been ruled by a judge that the Birds have to give the city $3 million dollars to make things even.
The city and the Eagles have been fighting over this for quite a while. Now it's over.
