Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb are more attached at the hip than we will ever know. I don't think it's a coincidence that their contracts end at the same.
I thought Les Bowen and Paul Domowitch hit it on the head when they talked about the relationship between Reid and McNabb in their article “Reid, McNabb Destinies Linked?” on Philly.com in their Eagletarian blog.
Reid had that the same type of relationship with Brett Favre when he was the quarterback coach in Green Bay and he has the same type of relationship with McNabb.
He could be accused of being too close to them because there's very little light between the big guy and his star quarterbacks.
McNabb has helped Reid put millions and millions of dollars in his pocket and I don't think Andy takes that for granted.
The relationship between McNabb and Reid is deep and strong. Nobody took it seriously when Reid said he talks to McNabb a lot.
I think they either sink or swim together. I believe they have two years to win it all or they're both going to be gone.
I think Jeffrey Lurie and Joe Banner might give them another chance if injuries play into it, but they have two years to get it done.
These guys have a tremendous trust of each other. That trust is still there even after the benching took place in Baltimore.
It's been a long time since Reid was this thin.
