Joe Banner has always said that the Eagles have been one of the highest spending teams in the NFL since Banner, Andy Reid and Jeffrey Lurie have been running things.
That claim doesn't stack up against the following figures which were reported by Jason La Canfora of NFL.com. In the years 2004-2008, the Birds are listed in between the Giants and the Bears.
We'll have to wait and see whether Banner refutes these numbers.
