There is a nice feature on the Philadelphia Eagles in today's USA Today. I'm assuming it's today's because it says the story was posted some five hours ago.
There are a couple of interesting items in there, including a stat that I not only didn't know, I'd never really thought about it. In the five years since Westbrook has been the starter here, only Ladainian Tomlinson has more yards from scrimmage than his 8,106. And not one running back has more receiving yards (3,191). The latter stat would be easy to guess.
The article also says that Andy Reid won't rule out adding a veteran RB, such as Warrick Dunn. It doesn't state it in a way that Warrick Dunn would be the likely guy, it just kind of throws his name out there as an example. Although I think we'd all agree that Dunn would be the type of back that Reid would like to add if he were to do so. I can't see the Duece (McAllister) being on the loose in Philly. Edgerrin James would be my second guess after Dunn.
As for Donovan, Andy Reid praised his QB's offseason workouts.
"He can throw the ball deep with accuracy, and we have some guys who can go get it," Reid said. "We'll see how it works out. That'll be part of the game, but it won't be the whole game."
Overall, Reid seems very content with his quarterback, which he should be.
"He seems to be in a real solid place," Reid said. "He never ceases to amaze me. We're extremely fortunate to have him."
