Robinson gets $40,000 fine for Maclin hit

Jeremy Maclin had a huge night last night in what was probably the best game of his career. But, he did have two black marks that stood out. The 4th-quarter, 4th-down drop of an easy Kafka pass that essentially ended the game, and he also got popped pretty good by a Dunta Robinson cheap shot.

Not much you can do about the drop now, but at least there is some retribution in the Robinson case.

The NFL has fined Robinson $40,000 for his hit on Maclin and he’s lucky he didn’t also get a suspension. Remember, Robinson is in the repeat offender program after he almost ended DeSean Jackson’s life last season on a ball across the middle. The NFL originally fined him $50,000 for that, but reduced it to $25,000 upon appeal.

I think it’s safe to say that Robinson has to be careful moving forward. Even if he doesn’t mind the fines (I’m not saying he doesn’t care about the money), he’s still probably looking at losing a game or two if he unloads on someone else like he did on Maclin and Jackson.

It’s plainly obvious Robinson didn’t learn anything from the first fine so what does lord Goodell expect this JO to learn from a lesser fine? Robinson is a menace to other players and anything short of a significant suspension for that vicious hit, given his now well established history, is as irresponsible of Goodell as was Robinson’s hit on Maclin.

His play shows that he considers hurting someone, so they can’t continue to play that game, is a good thing. He’s going to end a players career and possibly due more damage.

I’ll tell you what..

Do you think that hit had an effect on Maclin dropping an easy first down at the end of the game?

Blank will pay the 40,000 to keep his hard hitters sending messages.

Hell ..I wish one of our safeties was good enough to intimidate and make recievers think twice about coming in their area.

I hate to say this but Quinton Mikell is heads and shoulders above every safety on our team. ….and he couldn’t fill Dawk old shoes.

We’re soft and can’t cover at all!

Songs, as I tossed and turned after the game trying to get some sleep….thinking about all the plays that went wrong that we should have had……that was one that stood out to me.

I wholeheartedly believe that hit shook Maclin up and when he went across the middle for that 4th down catch, I’m sure he was thinking about it. I’m positive he was.

I’m not a Steelers fans but this shows the bias against James Harrison and the Steelers. Several of Harrison fines came on hits that were much more questionable than this. A couple of them was him just blasting through the hole and nailing the ball carrier. This dude clearly launches head first in an upward motion and only get this fine? If that was Harrison it would have been 75k and a suspension.

Don’t forget Avant dropped one, Djax dropped one.

Whose the recievers coach? Stevie Wonder?

It’s funny, last week, even in victory, many of us pointed out the horrendous play of the linebackers, etc..

All’s we heard was, a win is a win.

Champions are’nt happy with a win, when they play bad.

Andy Reid does not have the heart of a champion. His Du-fuss decisions of depending on and trading for injured players, clock/flag decisions, massive 1st round failures, (stop making excuses for watkins, other rookies missed more time and are starting. he’s a bum), and the “piece de resistance”

Offensive Line Coach as Defensive Coordinator.

Excuse machines are for losers.

Is there anyone out there that truly does not think that there will be a different set of linebackers starting at the end of the season?

What the ____ are you waiting for? Stubbord fat retard.

Either you can play or you can’t.

For spite, they made J. Trotter play special teams when he returned. Bad knees and all. Then the Steelers gashed us, and suddenly they have to swallow their pride and start Trotter in the middle.

If he was a man, “Bozo the Clown” and his sidekick “Pedro” would admit they made a mistake about Matthews and sign a linebacker or put Chaney in the middle.

Just keep making excuses for Fat Boy.

You’ll be the one looking stupid everytime you get into a argument with your cowboy, redskin, and giant fan friends. Multiple superbowls for all of them.

Every year Andy specializes in coming into the season with no players at a position

WR one year, Center the next, KR forever. Not add complete LB core.

Yeah he’s a champion.

BSM – many of you, after no matter what happens, constantly point out everything wrong on a team that has won 6 division championships and qualified for the playoffs 9 out of 12 years Ried has been coached.

Many of you constantly complain, gripe, make opinions based only on your own feelings, without taking into account league averages, or stats, and act like the little boy in the locker room who thinks his wee-wee is too small.

Yes, Ried is the ONLY coach in the NFL that trades/deasl with injured players, yes, Ried is the ONLY coach that has areas of weakness on his team, yes Ried is the ONLY coach that has MASSIVE (we are talking Ryan Leaf, Jimmy Clausen, DeMarcus Russel, 4 years of WRs in the first rd Lions, Peter Warrick, David Carr draft busts) 1st rd draft busts, the ONLY coach in the NFL coach in the NFL with flag clock flag (Bellicheck actually has the worst challenege average) issues.

Thanks you BSM for pointing all of this out – your brilliant reporting has enlightened all of us – and now you are going to parley that into explaining (or would that be making excuses) into somehow how the Eagles have managed to win 6 division titles, qualified for the playoffs 9 years, made it to 5 NFC Championhips games and the SB?

If only the coaches would listen to BSM – where do you coach man – I want to come work as an O Line or D Line coach under you and learn how to put a proper program together…..

I watch guys every weekend coach as a ref and it is freaking hilarious. I should wear one of those visor cameras and show you all what a bunch of jack nut wanna bes look like…
