Maclin Says He Wants Pressure

Eagles rookie reciever Jeremy Maclin told the Springfield, Missouri News-Leader, that unlike some who don't like pressure, he says he says that pressure is what he wants.

Maclin says he's not fazed by the challenge of trying to have a big rookie season like DeSean Jackson did a year in ago.

"My expectations are always high," Maclin said. "That's the kind of person I am, and that's the kind of person I've been for a long time.

"You know," he said of the pressure, "that's what I want."

Maclin was in Missouri helping some youngsters with some speed drills this past weekend.

This young Eagles wide receiver was picking things quite quickly during the OTA's and mini camps this past spring.  This week he, Donovan McNabb and his fellow wideouts are in Arizona for McNabb's yearly workout session.

A week and a half from now, he'll be in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for the Eagles training camp at Lehigh University.

I anxious to see how all the speed the Eagles now have at the wide receiver position translate on the field in their passing offense.

By the way, Maclin's not a big fan of Philly's favorite food, "I'm just not a really big fan of cheesesteak," he said, smiling. "It's good. It's just not my taste buds."

The dude needs to score a few touchdowns before he starts dissing the local grub.

Maclin will also have to sign his contract before he comes to camp.  The Eagles and the young wide receiver's representatives are still in the process of negotiating his deal.
