Vick Participates In WalkThru, May Practice This Afternoon

Andy Reid started off his news conference today by saying that Michael Vick felt good enough to do the walk through this morning. The walk through is a session which the players go through the plays that have been put i the game plan for an upcoming game. They go through the plays half speed without any helmets or shoulder pads on.

eid said that the Eagles are going to get all of three of his quarterback ready to play then let the process take care of itself with regards to Vick coming back from a concussion if he is cleared..

Vick could practice this afternoon, today depending on what happens the next hour a half before practice. If he does the exercising, balancing and lifting drills which Eagles head trainer Rick Burkholder is putting through at the moment, the may practice this afternoon.

Juqua Parker won’t practice this afternoon as well as Darryl Tapp because of injuries. They have depth at the defensive end because defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins can play defensive tackle.

Burkholder said Vick doesn’t have much in the way of concussion symptoms. His neck is still sore from the hit he sustained on Sunday night.

Reid and Burkholder emphasized “The Process” of having Vick pass numerous tests, both physical and mental before he will be given the chance to return to action.

One of the test Burkholder is putting Vick through as we speak involves exertion. He will undergo a balance part of the test. According to Reid and Burkholder Vick is right in the middle of this process they’re not going to push him ahead because of pressure for him to play.

Great news indeed JH

Not to change the subject, does anyone know if any teams picked up DL A Hargrove or D Landri… I didn’t see much from T Laws vs the Falcons and with J PArker hurting again (his body is breaking down) I would like to Eagles to pursue one of the players for some depth and maybe release either
Safety Colt Anderson or 6th CB Brandon Hughes..I just don’t think Laws is ever going to work out to his potential, he’s way too inconsistent..

honestly, matthews learning curve could accelerate on the outside, the middle is a lot. even if he moves back to middle for whatever reason, i trust what we do (although were prob split on the trust as fans here)

well lets see, a lot of you wanted chaney to stay in the middle and we all saw how many tackles he racked up last year when given the chance
hopefully this makes us better we’ll have to wait and see, but i will say we did well against the run in the 2nd/3rd qtrs at atl

paul – DL not a problem. What’s the point of fixing a non-problem? I know, it’s just your roster move itch, but seriuosly, if the LB fix works, why fiddle with other things?

Anyone know which QB is leading the NFL in Pass Completions of over 20 Yards.. yes, that’s right, The Overall #1 Draft Pick, Bust of All-Time,
Cam Newton of the Panthers.. It’s amazing to me on how many “experts’ missed on this kid and were comparing him to be a JeMarcus Russel type which couldn’t be further from the truth.. This Cam Newton will be the face of the NFL in 2 years time and I have been quite impressed with him since SUmmer Camp and is just scratching the surface …

i think we can win this game with young or kafka
we have the g-men’s number and were still better than them without vick
i just dont want him getting hurt in consecutive weeks, esp after signing an extension
of course were better with him and i want him to play, but look around the league and EVERY QB is getting hit
even brady, rivers, and rodgers are getting hit, its jsut a result of short offseason and the o-lines are behind the curve
that is the unit that needs the most continuity, and the lack of time/preparation is getting these qbs hammered

Dixon looks like he has taken a step backwards, Laws just doesn’t have it and
C Jenkins, if overused, will not make it thru the Season which is what I am afraid of..I would love to see Hargrove added and release Parker or Laws

At LB, I would rather see LB B Rolle play the Weakside and I have stated for over a month that the best LB Corp would be Rolle,Chaney & Fokou and then bring in Matthews/CLayton for passing situations.. Chaney is an updgrade over Matthews but he is still not the long-term answer in my opinion.. HE will make a lot of tackles, but how many will be around thge line-of-scrimmage as opposed to tackling 6-8-10 yards down the field like many of his were last year and early this season so far

About the Eagles OL,
I thought they played a very strong game versus the Falcons, QB’s are going to get hit, and Vick will get him for he moves around alot more trying to make something happen.. I think I recall Kafka gettting touched 1 Time during his drop backs.. key is getting rid of the ball.. but this OL played pretty darn well I thought versus the Falcons the other night.. (Some of the play calls suck like the gadget playes and crazy Tackle Traps in the Red-zone where no OL will have enough time to make those plays successful down on the shorten field in the red-zone.. They were assanine play calls given the position of the ball.. (Gadgets,mis-directions,reverses work best in the middle of the field where the LB’s and Secondary are playing further back, but once in the Red-Zone most defensive teams are pretty bunched up with LB up at the line of scrimmage and even safeties down in the box since they have less field to cover.. so Coach AR & MM , scrath these damn slow-developing,gadget plays out of the playbook to use when inside the 25 yard line.. it’ stupid and they don’t work in the NFL like they do in High School..

Paulman-

Anthony Hargrove signed with Seattle. He is playing there currently. I saw him week one versus the 49ers. I do not believe Landri signed elsewhere. I agree though that Laws has been a non-factor. I would rather give our practice squad DT Thorton a shot if we could not get Landri back. Good news about Chaney in the middle though. He was a real factor down the stretch last year. Now if we can keep Vick upright watch out.

thnx Storres,
I wished the Eagles kept DL Hargrove and TE Donald Lee on their final roster
Did Donald Lee sign with anyone else…

Anyone know or hear what the decision was or factor was between Lee and Harbor – does Harbor play special teams (the usual reason) and lee nt?

My question is….why must it cost us a loss before the coaches do the right thing?

Everyone seen Matthews was garbage and we said all offseason that bum would cost us in key moments.

I wish for once the fan view would be wrong on one of these Andy experiments.

We’re right 100% of the time…Now it’ll take Juan not matching up against top playcallers that will cost us a few games before the Brass finally wise up and get a reputable defensive ccordinator next.

Yes Navy,
Harbor does play on Kick-off teams as a blocker where Lee doesn’t or hasn;’t in recent yearsr.. I hold my breath for if Celek goes down, there is no threat at all at the TE Position… I thought Lee would have been great to use in Double TE sets on short-yardage & Red-Zone situations and is a proven TE with good hands and comies from a winning organization (Packers) and a good locker room guy and was really surprised he didn’t make the Roster
