We starting to get some of the answers now from the Eagles. Andy Reid says Brian Westbrook will be back in action sometime in the middle of August.
Believe me that's not written in stone. It's nearly impossible to tell when he's going to be able to play full speed tackle football. Sure he'll be out there running around in shorts but he won't be doing any full go tackle until it's time to start the season.
In addition, I don't want to see Westbrook do anything until he has to, anyway. They should put him in bubble wrap until the first game.
The guys expected to start at right guard, Stacy Andrews, might not be ready to practice at full go. He's still recovering from knee surgery. This is a problem because that offensive line needs to play together for a while.
As for defensive end Victor Abiamiri, it's always something with this kid. He hurt his pectoral muscle while lifting weights.
Now, he'll be trying to catch up when he comes back in mid-August. Some guys can't stay healthy. He's got to show something this year. He's one of the keys to the defense getting more dominant and consistent.
It's not as big of a deal because he's not missing games, but I still don't like the fact that he's missing time.
I also don't like the fact that it looks as if Jeremy Maclin won't be here for the first practice tomorrow. Both sides lose the longer this young man is out of practice.
Andy Reid wants him here but he's holding out hope that something will happen today.
"I think it's important for the rookies to be here. Any day you miss puts you behind. We'll see how today finishes up"
