McCoy Showing He’s One Of The Best Backs In The League

Eagles running back LeSean McCoy had another big day for the Birds. He’s starting to separate himself from many of the other backs in the league. He’s been able to make yardage on plays that are poorly blocked.

McCoy has shown the ability to run both inside and outside. He can find holes inside where they don’t appear to be, then he can freeze tacklers, get outside and around the corner.

That touchdown run he made was a masterpiece of quickness, vision and cutting ability. The Giants had numerous unblocked and in the neighborhood. They had McCoy trapped but he stuttered stepped, cut back, froze the tacklers then hit the acceleration button and left them standing there with their mouths open as he went into the end zone untouched for a score.

When they put Ronnie Brown in the game, the running game didn’t look the same.

On the day, he rushed for 24 times for 128 yards and one touchdown, but the numbers don’t tell the whole story. On numerous plays, the Eagles offensive line gave up penetration but McCoy avoided the tackler and made many of the New York defenders looked like they were glued down in cement.

For some reason, Andy Reid and Marty Mornhinweg didn’t give him a chance to run with the football on the goalline when they decided to give the ball to fullback Owen Schmitt twice.

“I was feeling okay”, McCoy said. “I am not a selfish player. I thought we would get it in there with the sneak and the fullback dive. It didn’t work out, but that was a critical point in the game. That helped out the outcome>”

If you take him out of the mix, the Eagles were able to do very little on offense.

Looking ahead McCoy may have to carry more of the load if Vick isn’t able to go next week against the 49ers.

“Depending on what is called, I am ready. But on the other hand, we have (QB Mike) Kafka and (QB Vince) Young, whoever plays, we should be fine. We have a lot of weapons and a team is not based on one player. We should be fine. But, I am willing to do whatever it takes to help this team out.”

With Vick out or hurting, guess who opposing defenses will key on? I hope he can stay healthy under those circumstances.

Shady is and always has been the real deal but under AR he will never be an Elite back because his coach doesnt understand what having a balanced attack means. AR waited until the Eagles were down 14-0 to start running the ball WTF??? #7 will continue to get killed with this joke of a OL. YOU RUN THE FOOTBALL to keep defenses off balance, rest your defense and to take pressure off your QB!!! Has anyone else had enough of the AR era????? Fire Andy Reid NOW!!!!!!!!

His performance was wasted by Reid’s stupidity and Juan Cheerleader’s inability.
A bunch of numnuts pretending to know what’s best. Andy still wears his Packer’s ring. It will be the only ring that donkey will get. Everything the Eagles do on offense and defense looks like a broken play, nothing looks smooth. I am totally disgusted with these know it all smug clowns.Where is Howie? Is he excited about Matthews and Allen?

G you really need to stop with the Ronnie Brown dumping. Ronnie Brown is a big back that needs touches to get going. He isn’t a cutback marvel like Shady. Ronnie gets you the tough yards and can excel if given the opportunity. He’s completely healthy and would be a major asset to this team if he had handlers who knew how to use him. Guarantee you if we had a Dungy or Parcells he’s be getting touches.

When Andy Reid hired Juan as defensive coordinator, that was the last straw.

That should have been the biggest red flag, that Andy has lost it. Or never had it.

All-in.

Bozo the clown as a defensive coordinator.

And Wee Willie Webber as head coach.

Good bye cruel world…

Says all the right things. Brian Westbrook 2.0. Love watching him play. Have no idea why they didnt allow him to take over the game. It was there for the taking. Second week in a row where we were the better team…and lost.
