The highlight of the day was a beautiful pass which had Donovan McNabb hitting DeSean Jackson on a seventy-yard bomb. Jackson got behind Joselio Hanson who was left in the dust.
On that play, rookie LeSean McCoy stepped up and picked up a blitzing linebacker. First he read the blitz and deciphered which guy to pick up and got the job done.
McNabb had plenty of time to get the ball off and hit Jackson in stride then he pulled away from Hanson.
Immediately after the play, McCoy came to the sideline and celebrated with his mentor, Brian Westbrook.
I think we could be seeing a lot of McNabb to Jackson hook ups this year.
On another play, McNabb scrambled to his right and hit Jackson who was running away from Hanson and Quintin Mikell this time.
McCoy was much better today running the football. On every run he made today, he stayed inside unless he saw something open up outside. He was getting a consistent five or six yards on each carry.
Leonard Weaver made the best run of the day when he broke a quick hitter up the middle and took about fifty yards.
As I wrote this morning, I think he could be a difference maker for the Birds.
