McNabb Talks About His Support Of Vick

Donovan McNabb just talked about initiating a conversation with Andy Reid about looking into the possibility of bringing in Michael Vick.  He said he had the conversation with him in July.

The starting Eagles QB said he had also had converstions with Vick during that time but didnt tell him about his communications with Reid.

The Vick and McNabb relationship goes back to the time Donovan hosted Michael when he visited the University of Syracuse as a recruit.  McNabb feels like he has a mentor relationship with Vick, but doesn't pretend to tell him what to do.

He repeated the statement that he wouldn't have a problem with Vick coming into the game and taking over the quarterback position in the wildcat formation, six or seven times a game like they did last year in Miami.

Donovan said he and Vick have shared experiences with both of them knowing what it's like to be in the midst of controversy.

McNabb talked about them getting here early in the morning and focusing on football.  He said he wants to show Mike how the hard work pays off.

He says Vick had quite a few coaches in Atlanta and it didn't help in the development of his game. Now he wants to help work on his football skills, so he can be the player he wants to be.

Donovan said he wasn't worried about the Eagles fans who say they're going to give back their tickets and stop supporting the team.
