According to Boston.com, the Eagles are keeping an eye on the New England Patriots tight end situation with the hopes of grabbing one of them in a trade.
The Patriots have four tight ends who can do some damage in a secondary when it comes to getting open and catching the football. One of them Chris Baker caught a couple of touchdown passes against the Birds in the preseason.
On the other hand, the Eagles have some injury and experience problems at the position, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if they worked something out with the Pats before they let one of the big pass receivers walk.
The Pats currently have four tight ends on the roster, Benjamin Watson, Alex Smith, Chris Baker and David Thomas. The acquisition of any one of them would improve the Eagles at the position.
