Conversations I Would Have With “D” Players

I'm a member of the media now but if I were a coach or a veteran player for the Eagles, I would have some things to say to a number of the Eagles young players who will be fighting for their jobs tonight.

Do you have something for us Victor Abiamiri?  If you do we want to see it tonight.  I want to notice you're out there as compared to last week when I forgot you were even playing.

Is Justin Tuck the only defensive lineman from Notre Dame who can play?

Bryan Smith I hope you know what time it is.  If you're in the back of the line, you know what that means.

You're the first one to be cut.  You need to play like you caught somebody sneaking into the house.

Don't change anything Jason Babin, keep taking no prisoners.  You don't want to go back to that substitute teaching job, do you?

By the way, Juqua Thomas, we haven't heard from you thus far this preseason.  Are you planning on being with us this season.

Hey Joe Mays it's either step up or go to the back of the line.  If you don't get it done tonight you may never start again in the rest of your NFL career.

I want to see you making plays and tackles at the line of scrimmage and behind the line of scrimmage.  If you can make some plays on Maurice Jones-Drew you can make plays on anybody.

Let me see your heart tonight.  You've fought all your life to get to this day, don't let it slip away.

Moise Fokou I want to see you step up and take this job tonight.  Nobody gave you a chance when you came to camp.

I along with many didn't think you would make the team but you've got a chance to take the starting job and  "Shake Up The World".

Take the job young man.  Take the job.

Chris Gocong, when are you going to get a jam on the tight end, then cover him.  Is that against your religion?  Could you make a play or two for us?

The same for you Akeem Jordan.  You're good enough of an athlete to make some big plays.  I dream of seeing you pick off a pass or get a sack.

You've got to start anticipating plays.  You're just playing with your ability and not studying your opponents, so you can anticipate what they're going to do.

If we don't start getting some big plays from our linebackers, we're going to have to start looking for new ones.

Ellis Hobb and Quintin Demps, is it safe for us to put you guys on the field at the same time?  I don't want any more mistakes out of you guys.

We're still waiting Jack Ikegwuonu.  We're waiting for something.  Are you going to put upa fight for a job?

As far as I can see Dimitri Patterson is ahead of you as a back up corner and special teams contributor.  The clock is ticking on you.
