Kolb To Start Vs. Jets & Vick Will QB 2nd Half

Eagles head coach Andy Reid was on 610-WIP this evening with Howard Eskin and he said Kevin Kolb is going to start this Thursday’s game in the Meadowlands against the Jets.

Reid went on to say that he was going to find ways to use Michael Vick during the time Kolb is running things, but will also let him be the quarterback in the second half.

This will be Vick’s last chance to play until NFL commissioner Roger Goodell decides to fully reinstate him.

I doubt they put too much on Vick’s back in terms of running the entire passing offense.  I could see them employing a simple attack, which stresses the part of the game plan which he knows very well.

Reid didn’t say whether A.J. Feeley was going to get the chance to play or not.

I could see them playing him sparingly since there’s been a report from NFL.com that the New England Patriots are eager to acquire him via trade, but the Eagles won’t move him until they know when Vick  will be activated.

Donovan McNabb will sit this one out for the Birds being that it’s the final preseason game.  Reid said previously that a number of the starters may play.

I could see Shawn Andrews, Stacy Andrews and Jason Peters getting in some work since they’ve missed reps because of injuries.
