I’m Not Sold On Justice And “O” Line Just Yet

Winston Justice with helmet offHow does an offensive lineman get praised after a game in which he gets beat by a pass rusher and the rusher gets to the quarterback, causes a fumble, which is recovered by the defense?

I don’t know how that happens unless you’re Winston Justice.  I know Kevin Kolb was back holding the ball too long but let’s be honest, as long as Justice didn’t give up three sacks, his performance was going to be considered an improvement.

I will agree that he improved on what we saw before but I’m not get carried away about an offensive lineman’s performance that includes giving up a sack and a forced fumble.

Do you think is group is ready for the New York Giants?

I know the Eagles defense dominated but the offensive line didn’t dominate.  I think they’re capable of it but I will give them credit for that type of performance when they do it.

I thought they blocked better for the run than for the pass.  I know with all of the running plays I saw the Eagles running during last weeks’ practices, they were planning on running the ball against Carolina.

Still this wasn’t any kind of great performance by the Eagles offensive line.

I’m reading all of these glowing articles about how he played when the truth of the matter is that he’s still shakey.  The pass blocking of the offensive line was nothing to write home about.

The Panthers have one pass rusher in Julius Peppers and those other guys are terrible.

Stacy Andrews is still not near full strength.  I see him with that brace on his leg and the fact that he can’t straighten it all the way out.

He got manhandled a few times in there against the Panthers.

Would somebody tell Jason Peters that you can’t start playing until the ball is snapped?  The Birds offensive line got a free pass yesterday but they’ve got to raise their play up a few levels.
