Eagles Activate Michael Vick and Release Hank Baskett

Vick on the runThe Eagles just added Michael Vick to the 53 man roster and released wide receiver Hank Baskett to make room for him.  This means Vick will be able to practice with the team and continue to process of getting ready to play in the third week of the season.

Vick watched practice last week and played catch with his quarterback coach.  He couldn’t take part in practice.

Now he’ll likely be running the scout team for the defense.  It will give him a chance to work and make him sharper for the third week.

Everyone’s guessing what will happen in week three when Vick is able to play and if McNabb isn’t able to play yet.

Baskett with the ball Baskett was one of the seven receivers the Eagles had on the roster and it was just a matter of time until they unloaded one of them.

It was reported on Monday that they were trying to trade him but now he’ll likely latch on with a team because they won’t have to give the Eagles anything for him.

Baskett was supposed to be the guy who became a red zone receiver for the Birds because of his height and jumping ability but that never materialized.

This is surely not good news for Baskett who was recently married to former Playboy playmate Kendra Wilkinson.

The two married in June and Baskett has been appearing on her reality show.
