Can you imagine sitting in the quarterback meetings this week with Donovan McNabb, kevin Kolb, Micahel Vick and Jeff Garcia? They should have raffled a seat in the room off at some of these fundraisers in the area.
Garcia talked about the perspective he’ll have when sitting in the quarterback meeting room.
“I don’t know Michael at all,” Garcia said. “I know Donovan and what he brings to the meeting room, and his personality. I know what I bring to the meeting room. We’re guys who have been around. We’re veterans. We can lighten the meeting room in ways and make it a fun atmosphere, a fun environment.
“I’ll get to know Mike over these next couple of weeks and I’m sure that will be a very positive situation. I think with all the knowledge that’s in that room we’ll be able to express ourselves in certain ways that hopefully will just make the room stronger and better.”
The pressure is going to be on Kolb because he’s going to be taking the reps, so all of the veteran quarterbacks who have been to the playoffs and starred in the league for years, will be sitting in there checking him out.
Kolb has to know that he might have no more than three or four series to convince the Eagles that he can do the job.
The Birds may not have time to struggle offensively with Kevin Kolb because Drew Brees and the high-scoring Saints offense will be on the attack on the other side of the field.
Some in the media are trying to argue that Kolb deserves to play the full game in order to get a legitimate examination by the Birds coaching staff.
To that I’ll say, the NFL is about winning games and championships not being fair to everybody.
