This Game Could Be Decided By The Speed Of Jackson Or Bush

Jackson on the runThis upcoming game between the Eagles and the Panthers will probably be filled with some exciting plays and it could very well be decided by a burst from the two most explosive players in this game, DeSean Jackson or Reggie Bush.

One is a running back the other is a wide receiver but they’re each quite versatile with the same type of game breaking capabilities.

DeSean and Reggie have each been identified as 4.3 guys in the forty-yard dash.  They’re on the small side but they’re walking and talking highlight films because of their flair for big plays.

Jackson and Bush are threats to take the ball the distance every time they touch it.  I think we’re going to see both of them touch it quite a bit on Sunday.

Bush in flightThey’ll each get chances via handoffs, receptions or as punt returners.

Bush the running back normally runs with the ball but he has always been one of Drew Brees’ favorite receiving targets.  The Eagles linebackers will have their work cut out for them in trying to cover him.

He’s a match up nightmare for defensive coordinators because he has the speed of a wide receiver. Fitttingly the Saints will split him out at times.  The Birds safeties will have to always know where he’s lining up.

Jackson on the other hand is a wide receiver but he’s found himself racking up rushing yardage as a wildcat quarterback and reverse man.

When Marty Mornhinweg was asked today if he was trying to get the ball in Jackson’s hands, he had to admit the obvious.

Sure he’s trying to get the ball in his hands since he’s the most dangerous player the Eagles have when it comes to pure speed.  He can turn anything into a long touchdown.

Jackson Battles for footballNowadays they’re lining Jackson up every where as they look to get him in one-on-one situations.  You could see him line up or shift to any position on the football field.

They’re each cat quick with great ball skills and the capability of making tacklers look foolish when they approach them.

Jackson took a punt back for a score last week and Bush has also done that a number of times in his career.  They expect to make plays like that.

My advice for you on Sunday is to emulate both defenses.  Before each snap, find out exactly where both Jackson and Bush are lined up.
