So who is ready for tonight game? Let’s go! Ok, maybe I am a little to over excited for tonight’s Sixers game. I am just interested to see if what they have been preaching; team unity/chemistry is going to work. We all know that the Sixers don’t have a superstar but the one thing they do have is depth. Not a lot of teams can bring guys off the bench like Evan Turner, Lou Williams and Thaddeus Young.
This town is a closet basketball town. There are people cracking the closet door open to see if this team is worth their time. They are waiting to just bust open that door. Hopefully they will get a chance. Here is a preview of Sixers who finished 41-41 last season and Trail Blazers 48-34.
The Trail Blazers
They are the most underrated team in the West in my eyes. They could be a very tough match-up for the Sixers because of their size in the front court. With Camby, Thomas, Smith, Wallace and Aldridge. Oden is out indefinitely. Umm, nothing new there. They have lost Brandon Roy to early retirement because of his knee issues. Man, Roy was a nice player and about to hit his prime when the knee issues came up. They also got rid of our old friend Andre Miller and brought in Jamal Crawford and Raymond Felton. Throw Wesley Matthews into that rotation and that is a solid basketball team.
The Sixers.
Like I said before they will be looking for team unity and depth to be their keys to wins this year especially without a superstar on the team. They are hoping Elton Brand still has something left in which I think he still does. Spencer Hawes looks to be more aggressive and in better shape than last season. Does that translate into a better season? You guys know how I feel about Evan Turner and Jrue Holiday already. The Sixers need the young kids to grow and we will find out starting tonight.
Key match ups.
Holiday versus Felton.
Advantage Holiday. Felton is a nice player and all but Holiday is a rising star. His leadership and basketball IQ for his age is awesome. BOOM.
Brand versus Aldridge.
Advantage Aldridge. Brand is going to give you all he can give out their not enough to stop Aldridge though. Aldridge to me is the most underrated big-man in the league. He has really developed his low-post game. He is also a rising star. 20-10 guy. BOOM.
Out look.
Sixers need to run and run. Tonight might be a tough night with Portland’s size in the half-court. Tonight might a good night for Hawes to show off his hard work in the off season. As usually our bench will be the key. A little quick side note on her twitter account Dei Lynnam has reported that Vucevic will be in the in the top four man rotation with the bigs. Being Brand, Thad, Hawes and him. Later, Speights. I was going to pick Portland to night to win tonight but what the hell! The “homer” in me has spoken. Sixers get that W tonight!
Showyaluv!!
Let’s gooooo!!!
