I must admit that I don’t know how good this Eagles team is and I don’t think the coaches or players on the squad really know how good they are either.
We’ll need to see them play a few more games before we can intelligently discuss this football team.
So far they have humilliated the Panthers and the Chiefs, and been humilliated by the Saints. With only three games to evaluate I would have to assume this team is some where in the middle of those three performances.
Next week they take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who took the Washington Redskins to the wire but remained winless by losing their fourth game of the season.
The week after next they’ll take on a bad Oakland Raiders squad. Then it’ll be a trip to Washington to battle the Redskins who always seem to give the Birds a tough time.
The Birds should have little trouble disposing of the Bucs and the Raiders, but they need to get those victories secured quickly in order to keep their key players, Donovan McNabb and Brian Westbrook, healthy in the process.
We don’t need any drama. They should come out and immediately grab those inferior teams by the throat and show them that they have no hope of an upset.
They’d better go down 95 knowing that they’re going to get a good fight from the Skins. I know Washington has been struggling but we know that an NFC East game will have them motivated and fighting for their lives.
This NFL team can’t afford to let this one get away.
The Birds need to be sitting with a 5-1 record after 6 games. I they can win the next three games and stay healthy, then they’ll be in a great position to make a strong run for the playoffs.
