Today at the Eagles Friday workout, Brian Westbrook wasn ‘t moving like the guy who carried the Eagles offense for a few year in a row. He doesn’t plant and cut like he normally does, so I can tell he’s not 100%.
Westbrook will start on Sunday but I don’t know how long he will last with that sore ankle. If he turns the ankle trying to make a cut or has someone twist it the wrong way, he’ll be through for the day.
He did practice which is somewhat of a change because it had gotten to be a regular thing that Westbrook wouldn’t practice much unless he was totally healthy.
It seems they’re pushing him more now. It wasn’t doing his ankle any good to be out there going through the entire practice.
I think either Westbrook wanted to show them that he could make it through the workout or they wanted him to show them he could make it through the workout.
In contrast young rookie running back LeSean McCoy was running around like the 21-year old youngster he is. He’s got limitless energy and enthusiasm.
I hope they don’t ask Westbrook to do too much on Sunday. If he gets banged up on Sunday, that will sit him down again and prolong the wait until he gets healthy.
I’d like to see them shut him down until he gets healthier.
They can beat Tampa Bay without Westbrook, but their chances of making it to the Super Bowl aren’t very good without a healthy Westbrook.
