Peyton Manning – A Once In A Lifetime Opportunity For Eagles

Earlier tonight on the NFL network the question was thrown around about where Peyton Manning could end up at in 2012. The teams thrown out as most likely landing spots included the Redskins, Dolphins, and Cardinals. NFL Network analyst Brian Baldinger then threw out the Eagles as a landing spot. He wasn’t necessarily saying this is a likely landing spot for Manning but that the Eagles should strongly consider making a run at Peyton due to the fact it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity for both parties.

I agree with Baldinger’s analysis on this subject. Manning is without a doubt a huge upgrade over Michael Vick at the quarterback position. The talent is already in place around Manning on the offensive side of the ball to put up his usual league leading stats. Manning also is familiar with Howard Mudd and his offensive line schemes so he’d come in already having a high comfort level with the offensive line.

Wherever Manning ends up he’ll need to go someplace where the offensive line is established and can handle the job of protecting him. The Eagles offensive line jelled together quite nicely as the 2011 season went on and I expect it to improve even more going into the 2012 season as both Danny Watkins and Jason Kelce both have a season under their belts.

Manning also now has the task of catching his younger brother Eli in the Superbowl count. Baldinger believes that Manning would surely like to win another Superbowl before retiring and that the Eagles would give him the best opportunity to do so and I agree with him. The talent is in place for Manning on the offensive side of the ball.

The offense showed flashes of brilliance during the Dallas game at home in 2011 and towards the end of the season with Mike Vick at quarterback. With Manning in place this offense will definitely show more of this brilliance and will consistently put up 21 or more points every week.

The defense going into 2012 obviously needs work and will have to add a linebacker and safety in order to improve but with Manning at quarterback the pressure on the defense would surely be a lot less. We just saw the Patriots reach the Superbowl with a great offense and a less than stellar defense. Why not play to your strengths and bolster the offense even more with an upgrade at quarterback in 2012. The Patriots proved no matter how many points opponents puts up against the defense you can outscore them with a great high powered offense.

Manning represents a once in a lifetime opportunity if he becomes available. I don’t foresee Manning going back to the Colts and from what I’ve read the Colts have no interest in paying Manning his bonus in March. Andy Reid is going into 2012 on the hot seat and what better way to save your job then going out and grabbing the greatest quarterback of the past decade. Reid owes it to himself and the fans to go out and make a bold move such as this not only to save his job but save the Eagles from the harsh off season criticism they’ve been receiving.

The Eagles have made bold moves in the past when least expected. The signing of Mike Vick came out of nowhere a few seasons ago. The Michael Vick project was worth a gamble and it gave us all some exciting moments but when Manning becomes available you have to take a shot at landing him. When healthy Manning is without a doubt a top 3 quarterback in the league and has proven to be consistent over his career.

The Eagles need to win a Superbowl and Peyton needs another ring to validate his place in the history books and show everyone he’s still the better Manning. I highly doubt any of this will come true but Peyton Manning and the Eagles could be a match made in heaven for everyone.

He was a good Qb. He needs to show he can regain his arm strength and is healed first. Trading him to the Eagles willl never happen with Vicks contract.

Gut feeling is he retires.

I agree with alot of what you wrote John for i posted most of this tonight already about an hour ago… where’s my check at gcobb? But like i said any team fortunate enough to get a Peyton Manning off the open matket reqlly stuck gold.. he will be healthy and will be ready to play football come season opener..I believe the eagles would be his first choice over the dolphins and seahawks and other teams being that they have everything for the most part established, the oline the rb the wrs, peyton wouldnt hesitate to come here.. and the icing on the cake is Howard Mudd his former oline coach for 10years is here… I think if they sign Peyton then the eagles would win 2 Sbs in the next 3years and thats the honest truth..they would also be forced to trade Vick for picks, and if here gonna do it this year would be the year to do it bc he has alot of value in the market.. possibly a trade to the dolphins, seahawks, redskins etc etc… then theyd have to draft the future qb.. this all may seem far fetched and unlikely but if the eagles can get Peyton than i would sign him and trade Vick while you still can… (It wont happen though)

Come on man!!! He is not going to be healthy & WILL NOT play again. He is done, stop with the fantasy BS!!! “Any team would be fortunate.” “He will be healthy.” You’re his Doctor now, too. “Eagles are his first choice over Miami & Seattle.” ” He’ll win us 2 Super Bowls.” JH, with all due respect, you have to be the biggest, clueless, unrealistic, non-knowledgeable person on here! Dude, you fell out of the idiot tree, hit every branch on the way down, that gave you a major stupid concussion. Why even say all of this BS, when at the end you admit it won’t happen. COME ON, talk about realistic things to better our squad, not fantasy LA LA Land nonsense.

Another look at this is if the birds do infact keep Vick, why not sign Peyton as camp comp for Vick bc who does Vick have pushing him? VY certainly did not. The year Vick played well he had Kolb pushing him.. So if they sign Peyton than let him and Vick have a QB competition at camp and whoever wins starts for the eagles.. What do the eagles have to lose by signing Peyton? Nothing at all..

JH, I absolutely love your passion for our teams, but you are off your rocker with alot of your thought processes. Reid is a lame duck coach, he isn’t going to risk his last season with a severe injury risk, immobile, 36 year old QB, past his prime. I don’t care if Manning is a first ballot HOF. He has Vick under contract for huge $$$, & he is sticking with him, whether we all like it or not. If Manning was 4 years younger, with no chance of being crippled, I would drive Vick out of town. It isn’t happening. Come back to Earth reality!

A good article I stole to share. When the Giants defeated the Patriots in Super Bowl XXXXVI (or is it XLVI?), one Eagles player in particular also lost something. You probably didn’t notice and maybe he didn’t either.

New York and New England (and many teams before them) got to the big game without the benefit of a commanding running game. While the Giants’ tandem of Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw did total more than 100 yards in the championship win, neither dictated to the defense. That brings me to LeSean McCoy.

One of the highlights last week in Indy was McCoy’s receiving of the FedEx Ground Player of the Year Award for his incredibly productive rushing performance in 2011. In keeping with that company’s theme, the NFL’s continued emphasis on the passing game absolutely, positively affects McCoy’s earning potential. Runners just are not as valuable as they once were, and any team that overdrafts or overpays them had better beware.

Seventeen of Shady’s 20 touchdowns came on the ground. Yet, in the final analysis, his team barely squeezed out an 8-8 record, even though, in him, its offense featured a prolific back. The lesson (which I will continue to pound until it changes) is running backs are not as valuable as they once were in the NFL, and to spend too high a draft pick or too much money on one is ill-advised, even suicide. In recent drafts, the following backs have been deemed worthy of top-12 status:

Player Overall Pick
Ronnie Brown No. 2
Cedric Benson No. 4
Carnell Williams No. 5
Adrian Peterson No. 7
Darren McFadden No. 4
Knowshon Moreno No. 12

Do you see a familiar theme? Neither of the players listed above has come close to leading his team deep into the postseason, let alone to a championship. And every one of these teams has fallen off.

The most accomplished runner in the group is Peterson. Last September, the Vikings signed him to an extension that includes $36 million in guarantees. If that occasion represented Christmas Day for Peterson, then on the actual Christmas Eve his entire future was called into question when he took a horrific shot on his left knee that ripped multiple ligaments. Fortunately, Peterson got his money in time. You think the Vikings wish they had never committed that money to a running back? I sure do.

The problem that a team creates for itself with so much money committed to a running back is there usually is no adequate replacement on the roster. Quick, who is in line to start the season as the Vikings’ top runner?

That brings me back to McCoy. Since he was a second-round pick, the Eagles have gotten tremendous return for their money. McCoy clearly has outperformed Moreno and the Colts’ Donald Brown, both of whom were taken in the first round the same year. But, he is still a running back, on a team that prefers to throw the ball downfield.

When the Eagles and McCoy’s agent get together, be honest, how much weight do you think management will place in the numbers he put up for a .500 team. Remember now, the front office’s duty is to get the best it can for the least cost. In McCoy’s case, I think it’s safe to say his production will not necessarily determine how far the team goes in 2012. It certainly has not so far. Heck, the Eagles put up 34 points on Washington in the season finale with McCoy dressed in street clothes!

The evidence is before us all across the league. Look, the Patriots came within a Wes Welker drop (yes, he should have caught that ball) of winning it all without a running game. The days of the heavily-paid running back are in the past. That’s not to say some teams won’t open the wallets and lay out tons of cash anyway. I’m simply betting that the teams that do so won’t have major success.

I say again, the evidence is before us all across the league. Do you believe in your heart the Eagles will grant McCoy a blockbuster deal? That’s not to knock the team. The issue is, when it come to McCoy’s position it’s wise to go the inexpensive route.

McCoy is about to enter the fourth and final year of his rookie contract. He’ll be only 24 when the season starts. There were reports during the season that talks had begun on a new deal. McCoy will want to be paid like an elite player, perhaps in Peterson’s range of $30-35 million in guarantees.

Prorated over six years, the cap hit would be more than manageable, but remember, we’re talking about a running back here. Good ones can be found late in drafts and in even among the pool of undrafted rookies. A sound financial manager must ask himself if he’s getting the most bang for his buck. The Eagles are a team with bigger fish to fry, and when they ask themselves that question, I suspect they will tread very carefully. Even Brian Westbrook, an All-Pro during his time here, had to resort to holding out of camp before he got paid. From a business standpoint, why would McCoy be viewed any differently?

The two Super Bowl teams just showed us how seldom running backs influence long-term success. For a player of McCoy’s stature, I suspect the harsh reality of what we’ve witnessed for years in the NFL will come calling soon. Fans won’t like it, even if in their heart of hearts they realize it’s dictated by history.

Interesting article dag…thanks for sharing.

One thing that is ignored however is Shadey’s (as was Westbrooks) value as a reciever. The screens and wheel routes give the team weapons to use against defensive pressure and blitzing schemes.

I am sure that AR and MM are already on-board with this idea….we all know that has been the case for years here.

The one thing that struck me about the Giants, and to a lesser degree, the Patriots, was both teams toughness and attention to detail.

The Giants receiver corps proved that they are the toughest in the league, along with their defense and their coaching staff…The coaching staff pays attention, and is on top of the little things, as opposed to Reid’s staff which has a history of sloppiness, inability to make adjustments and shows a general lack of awareness of detail, i.e. clock management, momentum shifts etc…It all starts with the head coach, who is sloppy, and the team reflects his sloppiness.

I have no confidence that the Eagles can make the tough plays when needed, or that they can make realistic decisions in reacting to the flow of the game.

Vick is not a championship caliber QB, and getting Manning, while it would be a huge step up in terms of game management, would be negated by the mentality or culture of the coaching…In addition, Manning is suffering from serious neck problems, and we have absolutely no idea of his physical reliability.

The Eagles need a complete ‘sea change’ in their approach, but ownership also lacks the toughness and will to win…Jeffrey Lurie is the definition of wishy-washy, and his sole concern is money, no matter how some would paint it…Eagles fans are basically suckers who will keep dishing out the bucks no matter what happens on the field.

Just looking at Tom Coughlin or Belichik, physically, and comparing with Reid, gives you a visual of some of the problems confronting the Eagles.

Also, their drafting is sub-standard while the Giants were built through the draft…John Pierre Paul was there for the Eagles, but he was unacceptable because of ‘character’ or ‘he couldn’t pick up the system’…But he flourishes with the Giants.

‘Character’ with the Eagles seems to be a willingness to accept mediocrity, and to ‘go along to get along’.

Expect another disappointing season in 2012.

NUMBERS DONT LIE..

ok fellas i had to jump in this one.Now that would be a real Dream team..lol but lets look at this. 1st off if we can say Reid will be the same coach because a13 year record shows he will be , then we have to say after 10 years in the NFL Vick has shown me is nothing but a average QB but with speed and an arm BUT not the QB smarts. He got away with it years ago but now coaches have figured him out with the pressure they put on him. He doesnt have a high QB IQ. The top ones in the leauge have it and you see it in there play. Men lie, women lie , but numbers dont lie. He been around long enough to let us know he doesnt play 16 games, and if they go to 18 games hes doomed. I like Vick but i have seem him give the eagles his best and it didnt get us anywhere.

i watched his interviews and behavior since he got here and i have to say he is back to his old self. You know when you break up with someone and swear you changed but whenyou get comfortable you act like your old butthead self? Well SLICK VICK is back. he went from being humble and saying the right things to sucking his teeth and slouching at the podium. Also all the “its not cockiness it confidense” nonsense. soon as he got paid he went back to his old self and had the BALL TO TELL US TO OUR FACE. When asked a question about sliding he came back with how he PLAYED THIS WAY SINCE POP WARRNER. Well ok if you cant change to protect yourself then how are you going to all of a sudden become this elite IQ QB in 1 full off season over 20 something years of playing your way?? ANSWER that. And his record shows he isnt growing he is still the sme bad decision making QB and when he gets fustrated with a defense he cant read he does those NON QB things like hold on to the ball for 9 seconds. come on VICk this is the NFL were 300 lbs men run like sprinters and you think they cant catch you. Thats that mentality that will not get us a super bowl.Which brings me to this point….

If we bring Peyton in here, 1 he will be protected. most of Vicks injuries came his own play. Howard Mud said he will protect Vick In the pocket and when he runs he is own his own. so when he tookj off or held the ball to long or didnt read the Damn blitz in his face he got hit. Peyton will not make those mistakes and defensees will have to earn a sack. 2 Vick never had a good competition during training camp. if you think Kold was comp your wrong. i would bring Peyton in here and Make Vick PROVE he is an elite QB and EARN A SPOT. If he beats Peyton then he deserves to start if not oh well, then at least we will see how Peyton will hold up. 3 It wiould be a security blanket for us and he will learn how to read coverages on the fly fro the best, give manning a head seat to vicks helmet and he can help him out, plus history shows Vick wont last a full season if he doest play smart and knowing Peyton is on the sidelines waiting will make him step his game up. 3 and last but not least the orginization needs to make a big signing in order to get fans back on the band wagon and either this or bringing back dawkins as a safty coach or Team motivator us fans just aint beat anymore.

The color Green seems to mean only MONEY to some but to me it used to mean BLOOD SWEAT AND KICK YOUR ASS UP AND DWON THE FIELD. But now GREEN means help the enviornment stay clean. But guess what the color BLUE is starting to look real nice these days. Funny they are starting to look like the eagles of old .(some what) Fellas “NUMBERS DONT LIE”..

Any team that obtains Peyton Manning (If he’s able to play that is) has to cut the chord with the previous Starter, You will have a locker room fractured with some players in the Eagles case wanting Vick and others wanting Manning and how do you afford both of them to begin with .. I believe Manning is done for and will retire, but if he is able to play, teams like the Redskins,Jets,Cardinals would be the most likely teams.
2012 will not only be a huge, career defining season for Coach AR and DC Castillo, but for QB M VIck… another ranking of 19th out of 32 NFL QB’s is not going to keep him around.. He needs A Top 10 Performance/Ranking for 2012 Season or he is a goner too

Peyton Manning WAS a great QB. Having expectations for him to instantly play like he did in his prime is naive. Even in his last full season he wasn’t looking that hot so it’s more likely than not that he’s done. There’s no way I would personally trade-in Mike Vick for that.

…Of course Baldinger would make that dumbass statement. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again Baldinger is a racist guy that gets to make a lot of ridiculous, offensive, public comments without being reprimanded for them.

Butch–Baldy a racist? Noway, thats not what i get from him. Hes been very critical of eli for years.. Baldy is just a very honest man when it comes to football.. thats why he has the job with the nfl network and fox and appearances on comcast. Hes one of the bedt analyst out hands down. Hes not a racist. Hes been very balanced in his remarks about vick in fact he said vick should have been mvp during the 09 10 season.. he just sees that if you have a chance to get a peyton manning and hes healthy and can still roc out then you have to take a look at him.. Vick is 32 and peyton is 35 a 3 year difference.. if i was the eagles i would take a look at him and i know they will.. vick needs to be pushed, there is noone around that can and dont give me trent edwards or dennis dixon, thats not gonna cut it.. even during training camp the year vick took over he was beating out kolb at training camp but andy prolonged the inevitable when he should have made the change so that vick could have ran with the first team and got the experience as the starter along with the reps etc etc.. so if they want to improve this team they should look into bringing in a peyton manning only if hes healthy enough..

You guys dog out mike vick every chance you get (no pun intended ) no your saying stick with vick.. you guys change with the wind..

Butch, you’re an idiot. People like you, who bring up the race card at every drop of the hat, prevents our race & society from moving on to the next level. Stop being an ignorant, moron. You do know we have a Black President, right? It isn’t the 1950’s anymore. Not everything is about race. Just because someone has something negative to say about someone, right away someone from that race has to make excuses & bring up the race card. Cut it out, & educate yourself my Brother. BTW, Baldy criticizes Reid all of the time, does that mean he hates fat Mormons, too? Grow up, you make yourself look ignorant.

DCar you’re an idiot and probably a racist that likes to tell people he’s “Not PC.” Just because you hang out with a Black person or two at your job doesn’t mean all racism, which has developed over a couple thousand years, has up and vanished like a fart in the wind. For you to dismiss any comment about racism without doing any research says quite a lot about you.

The only thing I’ll say more about this is that I’m glad Baldinger doesn’t call Eagles games from the booth. After the “Look at that little Donovan run” comment he made late in a game he called years ago it was pretty clear to me where he was coming from. You stick your thumbs in your ears all you want.

Obviously it was no shock to me that he decided to go to the nth degree to criticize McNabb, the best Eagle QB of all time right after the Redskin trade. After all he was the offensive guard that was more likely to be criticizing Randall Cunningham after games with reporters than actually stopping defensive players from running him over to get at Cunningham. Now he’s saying that a broken, used up Peyton Manning is better than Michael Vick.

Hate to break it to you, but there’s a thing called “A TREND” developing with his line of reasoning and the direction of his criticisms perhaps you’ve heard of such a thing? Certainly people are entitled to their dislikes, but be real. Do you ever think Baldinger would describe Dan Marino as a “Flawed QB”? Do you think somehow he might find it easier to label someone , like say, Warren Moon (Hall of Fame QB) a “Flawed QB”…I definitely do.

If Manning is healthy and can play at the level he played in the past, the eagles, like any other team that is poised to make a run but has a question at quarterback should sign him(he will be released by the colts because of the 28million bonus due in March if he is still on the roster); if he is not healthy or close to his previous level of play then it would be a foolish move to sign him, especially at the going rate

Why don’t we just get “future hall of famer” bret farve, while we are at it. Surely he is an upgrade over Vick.

Peyton Manning is a choke artist. Even his superbowl year he stunk in the playoffs. His defense was dominant that year.

Now he has a NECK injury. He put up those lofty stats playing in an indoor stadium. He is going to become real mortal if he signs with a team that plays outdoors, and he does not get to be a statue, like he was for most of his time with the Colts.

The Saints can’t buy a playoff win, when they have to go on the road. Dre Brees not withstanding.

Can you imagine Manning trying to go thru all that crap he does at the line of scrimage, with the Eagles. We can barely get a regular play off, let alone go thru the song and dance he does at the line.

That is soo funny. Let him take the hit that Vick took, to start the Packers playoff game and see if he gets up. He has spent his career untouched in the pocket. In a comfy indoor stadium.

Kurt Warner, Dree Brees and Matthew Stafford have put up big numbers playing in climate controled stadiums as well.

Peyton Manning would be a waste of time, and not an upgrade.

Not with the QB killer Andy Reid dailing up pass after pass.

You saw what happened to the other Great White Hope Kevin Kolb.

Slow and immoble does not work in Fat Andy’s Play calling scheme.

It’s a run for your life system, that got McNabb and Vick broken ribs.

And they CAN run.

But go ahead, wish for Manning.

He’ll be as effective as the best cover corner in the league playing zone defense for “Bozo the Clown” defensive coordinator Juan Castillio.

I think there are a couple football related things to consider:

1 – I still don’t think Manning will ever play again. Any team would have to do a lot of due dilligence to find out what the risk of signing Manning is, health and effectiveness wise.

2 – Paul is right. Can’t roll with Manning and Vick. Woul.d probably split the locer room, definetely split the fanbase. Can you imagaine the media storm after any bad game? Forget game….One guy throws 2 incompletions and then a pick and the fans will be chanting for the other…..

3 – Vick is still under contract for the upcoming season and there would be a significant cap hit if cut.

I don’t think Manning is goin g to play. I also don;t think the Eagles’ would cut Vick this season, so I don’t think the deal i s going to happen.

If it does (and yes I would prefer a healthy Manning over Vick – and I can;t believe anyone with any football acumen wouldn’t), I still say the Birds would have to select a QB with one of their first 3 picks and start prepping him for 2012/13…..much like they should do anyway.

You just compared Peyton Manning to Kevin Kolb. You are an idiot.

Another reason why bsm is an idiot, the colts were just as pass happy as Reids teams. And they had howard mudd and that oline system, the same exact thing as the current Eagles do. Bsm you post just demonstrates once again you falling back on your hater cliches, but not using your brain at all.

The Eagles could win a superbowl with 400 rushing yards for McCoy, only 10 pass plays, and the next words out of BSM’s mouth would be “Andy Reid will nenver win a superbowl because all he does is pass pass pass”.

If Peyton was FULLY healthy and if the team gave him a tryout and he looked like the old Peyton…..ABSOLUTELY sign him to a deal.

I love Mike Vick….but this is Peyton Manning we’re talking about here. A guy that would have every finger on his hand sporting bling if his team had a defense.

Sign Peyton, trade Vick.

This is coming from a guy that has MV7 collectibles all over his office.

And I would think manning would want to come here with the offense, mudd, as opposed to miami or the dysfunction in dc

Kind of a stupid conversation/thread here..Vick is the Face of Eagle Franchise for better or worse after being signed to that $100 million Deal last year.. Peyton would have no interest in coming to Philly anyways and play in the same division as his brother Eli..

Hey Butch, for you to say on one hand that I’m a idiot & probably a racist, & on the other hand call me an Oreo, just shows me & everyone else on here, what a stupid, ignorant, classless, clueless, racist, piece of sewer dwelling scumbag, joke, that you are. I’m not an Oreo, i’m a mutt & glad to say that I’m Black, Italian & Cherokee Indian. I was raised to have love & respect for all people. So go back to your hate filled existence & attempt to gain a new perspective on life, before it is too late for you. Say some prayers, find God or something, because you need some kind of help. Remember one thing, the first person that throws the race card out, at the drop of the hat, is usually the racest hater himself. BTW, oooh you hurt my feelings with the Oreo comment. I can’t go on with my life now. BOO HOO! You are a turd & a waste of oxygen to even talk to, because people like you don’t change & don’t want to change. So keep going on your hate filled life, full of blame, excuses, non-change & ignorance.

Erock, I agree. This isn’t the place for that crap. I’m disappointed in myself, for even acknowledging his ignorance. But with his further comments, just proved what I was attempting to do. Hey I’m not stupid, blind, delusional, nor close-minded, to believe racists aren’t still around. Hey I’ve been getting it from all sides my entire life. I was raised right, with good home-schooling, & it has made me a strong, forgiving, trustworthy, & what I would think, a good man. But my point is, everything isn’t about race. Have a good day all.

Look out for a QB in this years draft by the name of Brock Osweiler, hes 6’8 242, he looks sloppy and uncoordinated but think Tom Brady/Big Ben.. this kid will go in the first round maybe early second.. hes one of my sleepers in this years draft.. from Arizona state, look him up if you dont know him.. id be happy if the birds draft him with one of there 2nd round picks if he makes it that far, bc hes gonna start climbing the boards..

Everything isn’t about race? It sounds like you don’t believe anything should be about race even when it clearly is. As much as you want to avoid it, move around it and act like it doesn’t exist the reality is that racism is injected into society by PEOPLE. People like Brian Baldinger that time after time “coincidentally” choose to go above and beyond to criticize certain types of players in certain positions. Like I said the guy’s gone above and beyond to criticize specifically very Black QB of note that’s worn an Eagles uniform since Randall Cunningham. I didn’t choose to publish this article on something Brian Baldinger said…I only responded.

Another thing: NOT TALKING ABOUT ACTUALLY DOESN’T MAKE IT MAGICALLY VANISH.

Osweiler is moving up the charts, but do remember he only has 1 Season of Starting QB Experience at the College Level in a pretty basic Offensive System they ran at Arizona State and he will be a few year project, but at 6’7″ and 240lbs and pretty quick feet for a tall guy, he has potential ..
I tell you another QB who may surprise some is Kirk Cousins from Mich State, At 6’2 210 lbs (needs to get stronger,no doubt and doesn’t have the the biggest arm, but a gutsy, tough kid who was a 3 year Starter at Mich State and has gone against some top Defenses in the Big 10 every season like Ohio State,Wisconsin,Penn State and even Illinois..
in 44 Career Games, he’s thrown for over 8800 yards and 65 TD’s and only 27 Int’s and has only been sacked 48 Times so he get’s rid of the ball . He’s a career 65% passer and is more a “System Passer” than making big plays down the field.. Get this kid on a ball-controlled type of offense led with a strong running hgame like the Bears or Redksins, and I can see him developing pretty well and maybe be like a Matt Hasselback or a Matt Cassell type.. With his experience in COllege, COusins may be the most ready to come in and play on short notice (besides Luck/RG III) than the other QB’s in the Draft.. His downside is that he doesn’t have the big NFL arm or big upside athletically, but he could be a very nice fit for certain teams and is a smart, good kid…
