Sixers To Face Lakers Tonight Without Elton Brand

Sixers power forward Elton Brand won’t be available tonight when the Sixers battle the Los Angeles Lakers.  He injured his right thumb on Friday night against the Miami Heat, so rookie Lavoy Allen will get the start tonight in his place.

Of course playing the Lakers means dealing with the NBA’s leading scorer, Kobe Bryant.  For Philly to win, they must make Bryant work for his points and limit the contributions of the other Lakers.

If Bryant is hitting his shots, he’s going to get his, but the Sixers must limit the points of  Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynam.  They are big men who can score from the low post and that would probably mean hitting a high percentage.  You can believe that they’re going to test Allen to see if he can handle their big men.

Another huge win by the sixers taking the lakers heart tonight when kobe thought it was his night by moving to fifth alltime in scoring. But oh contrare.. Lou Willians came up large in the 4th quarter hitting every shot he took in the last few minutes. This game was a gut check/test of ur manhood and the sixers answered the call. I will go on record saying the only team in the league that will give the sixers trouble is the miami heat. Thats the only team i see the sixers struggling with.. but we currently have 2 allstars on this team. Andre Iguodala and the 6th man of the year Lou Williams who leads our team in scoring coming off the bench. They both should be participants at the allstar game.. #showyaluv!!!

when lou williams is on he has that killer instinct.. no matter if kobe wade lebron is on the floor he is not afraid to shoot.. I think he should be a starter.. but idk i like meeks and i dont think meeks is as good coming off the bench… the great thing about lou is he doesnt tuen the ball over like alot of small guards

JH, Iggy is not an All-Star. Cut it out! They are playing well & I have to give them props, but Iggy & Brand still have to go.

I know you guys werent expecting this from Iggy but he has played his heart out this year on both ends of the floor. Hes a lock down defender, and does it all. One of the best al around players in the league. The sixers should not trade him but instead keep him and add one more peice.. But as i can see this team has no flaws other than needing a defensive presence down low/.. so showyaluv for iggy, i was one of the ones saying trade him but i dont think they should, there arent many guys that can do the things he can on the court and thats being honest.. Lou deserves an allstar nod too.. You guys just dont want to believe it, but by the end of all this you ll be on the wagon shouting your love for this team.. esp you bird, dcar your just negative about all philly sports teams so i dont expect much from you

Bad News about C S Hawes, having MRI on that Back of his adn he may end up being out for a while… Sixers may have to make a move..
Maybe the New Orleans Hornets big man Chris Kaman or Charlotte Bobcats
Desanga Diop otr even PF Tyrus Thomas (6-10 255lbs) since both of the Hornets & Bobcats are going nowhere and may be interested in Draft Picks in Return..

Iggy is who he is. This team has NO all-stars….which is for the better.

You’re a moron if you believe otherwise.

“All-Star” small forwards don’t shoot Shaq-like #’s from the Free Throw line.

And nobody is saying anything about the “TEAM” — the TEAM is playing great and I’ve been a die-hard forever…..even while you (Jon Hart) was cheering for the Heat like the rest of the bandwagon Lebron nut-gobblers.

I think your right paul. If hawes is out for awhile than theyre gonna be forced to make a deal. They can have our 1st rounder. We dont have enough cap room to flat out sign someone. But as i think about it the sixers may ride this out, i think they considered all the other alternatives and they dont want to lose any young talent off this team and the nucleus they have. We may be looking at a starting lineup of two rookies at PF and C both Lavoy Allen and Nuc.

Bird, there arent many allstars that have great freethrow numbers, Both wade and bron are poor ft shooters. What are you talking about? Your such an angry guy haha chill buddy. Iggy is having an allstar year and so is Lou Williams and they both deserve to be reserves on the team. And the heat have always been a team ive liked and so are the bulls, but of course its sixers first and foremost all day.
