As each day has gone by since the Eagles lost to the Raiders, I’ve heard more and more of the blame for the loss going to Donovan McNabb.
Yes the offensive line was terrible and McNabb was under pressure all day long. Yes Andy Reid and Marty Mornhinweg kept throwing the ball on each play.
Yes the receivers dropped a number of passes but all of that is going to be forgotten and McNabb will get the blame.
You have some whispering that Kevin Kolb would have led the Eagles to victory. That would be hard for me to say since I’ve never seen him get pounded like McNabb was being done.
I do acknowledge that the Eagles would have run the ball more if Kolb were quarterbacking.
Regardless, McNabb had better know that he has a bullseye on his back.
The fact that he didn’t play one of his better games regardless of the reason, makes that bullseye bigger.
It doesn’t surprise me, it’s part of what he must deal with. He shouldn’t complain about it, he should attack it.
He should question and challenge the plays that come in from the sideline. He should do this at the appropiate time. He must be assertive about what’s going on with the Eagles offense.
McNabb can’t take a backseat.
The 11th year Eagles quarterback had better know what time it is. Whatever goes wrong for the Birds is going to blamed on him,so he’d better do whatever he can do get this team back on track.
McNabb should be willing to get in Reid’s face or any of his teammates faces to get whatever problems they’re having solved.
You see Reid is going to get a new contract and the Eagles have rebuilt this football team.
They’re going to have no problem shipping him out of here at the end of the season and giving the keys of the car to Kevin Kolb. He’s going to be the odd man
