Burkholder: Westbrook Is Dealing With Mild Headaches

Burkholder talks to mediaEagles trainer Rick Burkholder says Brian Westbrook is having mild headaches.

He did say that they have had players who have had concussions and lost consciousness during a game but still played the next week.

There’s a National Football League rule, which doesn’t allow teams to let a player play anymore after they lose consciousness on the field.

Burkholder says they treat the symptoms and focus on them rather than the grade level of the concussions.

They don’t pay a lot of attention to the level of concussion because they don’t think that is very important.

Burkholder is anxious to get Westbrook through this headache period, then they will start working him out and see if it makes the headaches return.

If the workout doesn’t make his headaches return, then they start him doing some football related work.

Westbrook at practice If he gets through that he’ll be back at practice and then return to playing in the games.

Burkholder says they’ll have to watch his every move and look for any other symptoms such as depression, inability to focus, grouchiness, and etc.

One of the guys joked that he’s now figured out what has been bothering his wife all these years.  lol.
