Celek’s Pose Part Of Captain Morgan Marketing Plan?

Celek does his poseThe Eagles scored their lone touchdown against Dallas and Eagles tight end Brent Celek did this pose to celebrate it.

I didn’t think was a big when he did his pose after getting into the end zone.

I didn’t like the fact that the Birds got a fifteen yard penalty when receiver Jason Avant some how got involved, but still I thought nothing about the pose.

I no idea what the pose was but I have come to find out that there was a lot of signifcance in the pose.

I’ve come to find out that Celek was mimmicking the Captain Morgan liquor label.

According to Yahoo Sports, the Captain Morgan label had promised lucrative payments (as much as $10,000) to an organization, Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund, which supports former NFL players who are struggling to make it financially.

NFL players are forbidden from promoting products on the field, but the league believes Captain Morgan was trying to go though the back door to get expose from the league.

A company can´t pay a player to somehow promote its product on the field. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said this week. Every league has the same rule. Its come up before, companies trying to use our games and then players for ambush marketing purposes, of course to do the right marketing strategy having a good research is important and there are tools you can use for this, so give this a look to find the right ones.

Greg Lehrman, who handles Captain Morgan’s promotions said, The [ad campaign] has been going around internally for a while and [Celek] learned of the program.  According to Lehrman Celek decided to help the charity by promoting the liquor company and helping Gridiron Greats get a large donation.

You’ll probably see some finds come down on any other players who try to do the pose again.

The NFL will not tolerate companies getting exposure on NFL telecasts without paying the cost associated with it, to the NFL and its partners.
