McNabb And Eagles Passing Game Must Carry The Birds

McNabb lets it go Donovan McNabb and the Eagles passing game will have to carry this team to the playoffs, if they are to make it.

They almost got it done on Sunday but they’re going to have to be explosive in the middle of the field as they were against the Chargers and they must find a way to get the ball into the endzone.

Andy Reid and Marty Mornhinweg will need to be on their game the rest of the way.

The Eagles can’t count on their running game to get much done the rest of the season.  In some games, they may be able to get something out of them, but they count on it.

Their offensive line is inconsistent.  McNabb will probably be throwing the ball on 3rd and one.

Their top running back Brian Westbrook might not play the rest of the season.  They can’t even be counted on to get a yard on third down.

You’re probably going to see a lot of LeSean McCoy.  Remember he’s a rookie and rookies make mistakes.

McNabb throws deep Even the defense is not to be counted on any more.   The injuries have taken their toll and the secondary, which was once considered a strength of the team is now a weakness.

Starting cornerback Sheldon Brown, who was having a Pro Bowl season, is now down with a hamstring injury.

Last week, they lost nickel back Joselio Hanson because of his violation of the NFL substance abuse policy.

Add that to the lost of dime back Ellis Hobbs who was sidelined for the season because of a neck injury which will require surgery, and you have the making of a disaster.

That brings us back to McNabb, DeSean Jackson, Brent Cellek, Jeremy Maclin, Jason Avant and the rest of the Eagles receivers.

They must put points on the board.  I talking about 24 points and up.

The key will be solving their red zone problems because they have the weapons to move the football.
