The Birds will have both DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin back on the field on Sunday even though it’s been a while since they both were on the field together in practice.
Jackson is back in the mix now and has practiced for the last couple of days. He’s been working out for more than a week, so he’s not having any problem in the no contact workouts.
He will have somewhat a boundary to cross when he gets back on the field during the game this week.
The first hit will be memorable then it’ll be play ball after that.
Maclin injured his foot early in the game against the Falcons on that long punt return he had but he was able to get back in there and play the rest of the game.
I don’t want to see him miss any games because he’s starting to play faster as he becomes more familiar with the offense and the pro game.
He and Jackson are going to scary as he matures. Maclin is going to getting bigger and stronger because he’s only 21 years old. Can you say two Pro Bowl receivers?
He’s been sidelined for the first two days of practice this week and had his foot in a protective boot so he doesn’t reinjure the foot while he is shut down.
I would feel better about Maclin’s foot if the Birds were playing at home this weekend on the Lincoln Financial Field grass, but he’ll be able to go on Sunday.
All turf is harder on the legs than grass, and they goes for the turf at the Meadowlands. Turf doesn’t give as much as grass and that causes it to stress all the legs whether it be the knees or the feet.
He’ll be able to go on Sunday but there’s no telling how effective he will be.
It’s not a negative that the young man is 21 years old. He’ll likely recover quickly.
