McNabb Has A Lot On The Line This Weekend

McNabb looking to sideline There’s a lot on the line this weekend when the Birds take on the Cowboys.  I couldn’t guarantee that it’ll be the last game that Donovan McNabb plays for the Eagles, but I couldn’t guarantee that it won’t either.

Last week’s game won’t mean anything if the McNabb and the Birds can beat the Cowboys this weekend.  Hopefully nobody told Dallas.

Let them lose this game and see how their fans talk about last week’s game.

Nobody was going to go home after last week’s game, but somebody is going home after this one.

It’is all going to come down to nine or ten series for each team. McNabb and the Eagles will either take advantage of the opportunities that are presented to them or see their season come to an end.

I don’t think it’s totally out of the question that the Eagles revenge their awful performance against the Cowboys by beating them this Saturday in Dallas.

Remember that as we are beating up on the Eagles because of their performance, the Cowboys are hearing everybody tell them how great they are.

The Cowboys were good on Sunday but they got a lot of help from the Eagles.  The contest would have been close if the Birds had taken advantage of some of their opportunities in the first half.

McNabb had DeSean Jackson open down the middle deep in the second quarter but just missed him.  That would have tied the game up at seven and forced the Cowboys to play under some pressure.

I think he’ll get open deep a time or two on Saturday but McNabb has to get him the ball.

McNabb and Jeremy Maclin share the blame for not hooking up on the crossing route  in Dallas territory on a third down also in the second quarter.  It would have given the Birds the ball inside the Dallas twenty-yard line, which would have just about guaranteed another score.

McNabb making a throw They must make it happen the next time.

They also had the ball on the Dallas fifteen yard line with a first down and ten, but McNabb and center Nick Cole failed to complete the shot gun snap.  The snap was a bit low but it was catchable.

They can’t let that happen again.

If the Birds had been able to score a touchdown or field goal on any of those opportunities, they would have had a chance to win the football game.

Yes McNabb’s teammates could have played better but he’s got much more experience than his younger colleagues yet he didn’t play any better than they did.

I think he’ll bounce back because he’s done it numerous times before.

Like this past Sunday the Eagles will have opportunities to make plays against the Cowboys but they’ve got to execute much better.

The Eagles can make it a close game if McNabb and his receivers play like they’re capable.

I’m not going to start kicking dirt over McNabb’s grave because he’s played some of his best football in these situations.

If they don’t play well , it’ll guarantee that they won’t win the football game, but it’ll mean anything could happen during this off season.
