I can understand why Michael Vick didn’t back away from his “dynasty” comments yesterday at Eagles training camp. He tried to walk them back a bit, but he can’t erase the tape. it’s out there now, so he must back it up with production.
I don’t think he should have been talking about the Eagles putting together a dynasty since they’ve never won even a playoff game with him a quarterback, but it’s too late to back away from it now. He and his teammates know they’ve got to produce a big year for their long-suffering fans. Whether he said the comment or not, he and the Eagles are going to get verbally torn apart if they don’t have a big year.
“That’s just me speaking in confidence, and if you ask my teammates, they’d tell you the same thing and feel the same way,” Vick said. “As a quarterback, that’s just how you feel. I feel you’ve got to speak it into existence. You’ve got to aim and shoot for the stars, and if you miss, you’ll be amongst them.”
From now on, I want to see Vick and his teammates think about what they’re going to say and how it’s going to affect people before they start running off with the mouth. Do your talking on the field and not in the locker room. It comes across a lot better when your play backs up what you say.
I understand that you want to be confident and talk confident, but there’s a big difference in talking confidently and talking about building a dynasty. There have been a lot of Super Bowl Champions who weren’t able to build a dynasty. Let’s focus on becoming Super Bowl Champions first then we’ll start talking about dynasties down the road.

I heard his interview yesterday, he didn’t seem to be walking his comment back to me, actually he was saying the exact same thing he said in his initial comment. Personally glad he has that type of confidence. @GCobb before trying to tell Vick how to talk and what to say, read some of your articles, they are indeed a long way from being perfect, in fact some you could have left on the drawing table.
Gcobb could def use someone to edit his articles ( HIRE ME! lol), BUT, he is spot on with Vick keeping his mouth shut. Vick is a below average thrower, with amazing athletic ability. In 2010, he improved drastically, but regressed last year. There is a lot of talent on this team, but they certainly lacked heart. What they should be saying is the honest truth. We aren’t that good of a team and we have a lot of work to do. They were 4-8 last year and lucky to finish 8-8.
Vick should learn from Tom Brady, the greatest QB to ever play the game. Keep your mouth
shut and play the game.

The reason people are scared of what a player will say is because they do not believe the Eagles can over come or win due to what others think about what an Eagle says. Fact of the matter is it doesn’t matter, the Eagles will win and lose based on performance, not what someone said or what the opponent thinks about what was said. If you’re scared get a dog punks!!!
@phillylifer, couldn’t agree with you more, everything anyone says from this team immediately becomes national news. Not to mention I get tired of hearing people tell this grown man what he can say.
I feel like you guys aren’t using your brains on this one. Mike Vick is talking about a dynasty. That should be the last thing on his mind right now. He is thinking way too far into the future. What he should be concerned about is getting better everyday and taking one snap at a time. What he should be concerned about is playing like a good pocket quarterback rather than running around like a scared little fruitcake.
This team is so cocky its not even funny. Last year I bought into the hype and I was cocky about the team. But Id think that the team would have been a bit more humble. Clearly they weren’t considering how pathetic and dissapointing last season was.
So yes Mike Vick, shut up, and play football.
