Tonight the Birds will take a look at all four of their quarterbacks in this preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Michael Vick will play the first quarter with the starters. Mike Kafka will take the second quarter with the second team. Nick Foles will see action in the third quarter with the third string, and Trent Edwards will finish up in the fourth quarter with the fourth unit.
Vick needs to jump in there tonight and move the football without mistakes.
Kafka has a lot to prove and it’s time to start doing it tonight by proving he can take over the leadership of this offense if Vick goes down.
Foles will continue his development process. He has less pressure on him than any of other quarterbacks. He’s going to be here, and the youngster could put some major pressure on Kafka if he were to outplay him.
Edwards has very little chance of making this football team. He’s really playing to showcase his abilities to other teams so that they will pick him up when he’s cut by the Eagles.
Quite a few spots on the team will be won and lost on the special teams. Number-one punt returner Damaris Johnson could win himself a spot on the team, if he can stay away from any fumbles or other mishaps while doing his duties tonight. He’s got the quickness and speed to make big plays, but can he avoid making mistakes.
All the other rookies will need to do a good job on the special teams in order to make the roster.
Edwards never impressed me in Buffalo. Would not suprise me if they picked him back up and dump Young though.
I see a 10 win team as we speak.
