Letters From GCobb.com Readers

From Ben,
Are all these articles about the dysfunction of the team true?  Everyone downplays the problems and doesn't want to come up with any real excuses?  If the Eagles think that its just execution then they are sorely mistaken.

You can't execute if the other team has a good idea of whats coming…THE PASS.  I don't get how they can downplay the problems.  The problems of the Eagles is play calling and inability to keep defenses off balance.  Which pretty much are the same thing.  Play calling problems can be easily fixed with a new scheme or approach.  I also think Ownership is losing  the fans trust especially if they continue to not address the real problems on the Eagles.  You think Lurie or Banner would step in and force Andy to change things up?  Andy sounds more and more like an idiot each time I hear one of his press conferences.

From Dan,
How come Romo didn't really get blasted for his 6 turnovers monday night. I'm beginning to think McNabb was right about what he said on HBO. Keep up the good work G. love the site

From Frank,
G-
Glad to hear you are calling out the coaches.  We need all the media in this town to do the same.  First and foremost is Dave Spadaro.  I am so sick of his "company" articles.  I know he is in a peculiar situation but he needs to step up. Todays article of the the lines needing to dominate is insulting.  So far the D line has done the job and the O line would dominate if REID would run the ball.  Sounds like they are trying to get attention away from Reid. Maybe my bias against Reid is clouding my judgment on this one.

From Ron,
Gary, Please bury the "Will the Eagles release Jevon Kearse" story aleady! You and I both know the eagles will never admit they made a giant blunder in that free agent pick-up!!

From Joe,

Donovan needs to go!!!   Let's trade Donovan needs to go!!!!  Let's trade Donovan even up for Devon Hester.   Donovan goes home sweet home and we get out return specialist…… Make the trade now.

From Dan,
Over many years of watching pro football I am always amazed that coaches continue to drop seven and sometimes eight players back to defend the pass and hardlly ever blizting when trying to protect a lead at the end of a game. Usualy they lose by a field goal. Witness last nights Cowboys-Bills game as another example. I know they don't want to get beat, instead the get slowly picked apart and then lose. You've been around and know the game as well as anyone…why don't they continue to play the way they have been successful the other 48 minutes of the game ?

Tony  From DC,
Hey G,
Dallas was exposed against the bills, pressure Tony Romo and create turnovers. Eventually when they face  a good team they will be beat.
take care,

From Louis,
Hi G,
I heard something over the weekend with Ray Diddy,
he said if Andy steps down, Marty will be the next head coach. Please tell me it's not so !
Thanks for your time.

From Dan,
I really don't want to continue to hear or read about Donovan not having confidence in his receivers. It is a red herring. I will quickly admit that this year Brown has no game and Curtis has already dropped too many. As far as L.J. goes he drops as many as Curtis. One thing I have noticed is the good quarterbacks realease the ball very quickly, which is not Donovan's strong suite. It is up to Reid to change the passing game for success. I have heard how hard it is for rookie receivers to grasp the Eagles passing game. WHY ? Make it simple and quick and it may work better than the one the use now. It will certainly help the O line, keep Donovan alive and maybe maybe they will find a receiver in their mix. I know Andy is not a good judge of receivers, but are their any on the Eagles or other teams practice squad that may be better than who the Eagles are now using? They shouldn't be hard to find. Tough to think about but the team lost T.O. for a couple of bucks, passed on Moss for a second time…but we root for a team with character, or should that be a team of characters.

From Rick,
Thank You for your honest and truthful journalism on eagles football its refreashing in comparison to the propaganda read on the so called "award winning"eagles official website.Keep up the good work. God Bless and Go Eagles!!!

From Jim,

Garry,
I seriously doubt that Andy will ever coach a Super Bowl winning team. He has a blind spot when it comes to line backers and receivers. He calls way too many passing plays compared to running plays. He is very poor at making adjustments during the game. His draft selections have been so so. And this year by your own admission he cost the Eagles at least two wins which became losses. I realize that family problems might be a big factor this year, but what about previous years? Do you agree? Can you give me and other Eagle fans reason for HOPE?
