Let me warn you that the Eagles could lose this game to the Jets. I don't think they will, but this team had better show up ready to play football. The Jets are fighting for their lives just like the Eagles are doing.
First let me emphasize that the Jets beat themselves as much as they let the Giants beat them last Sunday. They moved the ball well against the Giants defense but a couple of Chad Pennington interceptions doomed them. He threw two that dearly cost the Jets. One was returned for a touchdown and another was made in the endzone.
The Jets are a ball control attack which matches up well against the Eagles defense if Jim Johnson decides to blitz a lot. Teams which are willing to just throw the ball to the sticks like the Saints offense, have always had success against the Eagles.
The Jets have more big play weapons than the Eagles, so the Birds can't take this game for granted. Jets wide receivers Coles and Jerricho Cotchery or back up running back and kick off returner Leon Washington could turn a short play into a long touchdown and spoil the party for the Birds. Unlike the Birds who have only one true game breaker in Brian Westbrook, the Jets have three guys who can leave you with your mouth open, after an amazing touchdown dash.
I also hope the Eagles defense doesn't knock starting New York quarterback Pennington out of the game because his backup Kellen Clemens has a stronger arm and is more capable of getting the ball deep to the Jets speedy receivers.
The special teams had better be paying attention to the forementioned Washington because he's already returned two kickoffs for touchdowns. The Eagles with their offense struggling can't afford to spot anybody any points.
