I don't see any way the Birds hang onto All-Pro left cornerback Lito Sheppard now that they have another All-Pro left cornerback in Asante Samuel, but after looking at a couple of Lits's highlight videos I wonder if getting rid of him makes sense.
If the Birds aren't going to be able to acquire a top-flight wide receiver by using Sheppard as bait, then I think they need to consider hanging onto him. Even though Samuel is a great player, he's not noticably better than Lito.
Both of them are big play cornerbacks who can turn around a game in an instant. We all know that big plays and turnovers are the key to winning in the NFL, so wouldn't it be a good thing to have both of these guys in the secondary.
I do know that there's one problem which the Eagles don't want to deal with and that's Sheppard attitude now that he knows there's a cornerback on the team making about $8 million dollars per season;
