The Eagles decided to go low budget again. They needed an experienced linebacker to have around to work with their young linebacker corps. Today they signed veteran free agent LB Rocky Boiman. Who? Yeah I thought the same thing.
I think they need a veteran linebacker much more accomplished than Boiman. If this guy says something to one of the youngsters, they would respond by saying, "What have you ever done"? Players don't care what you say until they know you've accomplished something in your career.
There are a number of veteran LB's out there that have a much better resume than this guy. Oh well I guess he's going to be a special teamer.
Boiman played 86 career games with Indianapolis (2006-7) and Tennessee (2002-05). Last year, Boiman saw action in all 16 games (7 starts) for the Colts, registering 64 tackles and two interceptions. He was a 4th round draft choice of the Titans in 2002.
The 26 year old Boiman is a native of Cincinatti, Ohio and played collegiately at Notre Dame.
