Did you notice in Andy's post game news conference he didn't say anything about failing to put the guys in position to make plays? He and Marty put them in position but the players failed to make the plays against the Bears.
Too many of Donovan’s passes were sailing high and off target. He prides himself in being able to throw the ball hard but that's not an asset if the receivers aren't able to catch it. He’s got to do a better job of throwing catchable passes. McNabb is still gimpy even though he took off and scrambled for a couple of times for key first downs.
The Eagles got the ball to Reggie Brown in this game but he dropped the most important pass that went his way, which would have been a touchdown.
The Eagles are signaling their running plays with the Hank Baskett or the formations they're getting into. I noticed the Bears run blitzing some of their formations and they were right each time.
The penalties were consistently knocking the Eagles out of opportunities. The Herremans holding penaltiy stopped the Eagles from putting the game away.
The receivers continue dropping too many passes. McNabb continues throwing too many of them high and off target.
Sheldon Brown was beaten badly by Devin Hester on a go route but Bears quarterback Brian Griese threw the ball late and Brown was able to break up the pass.
In the third quarter, the Eagles defense got a bad call against them when holding was called on cornerback William James. On that play Eagles defensive end Trent Cole sacked the Bears quarterback and the Birds thought they were headed off the field. James had a classic jam on Bears wide receiver Bernard Berrian. James was within the five yard area but for some reason one of the officials decided to throw a flag. It was a terrible call and wound up costing the Eagles three points.
The refs also made a pathetic pass interference call on Greg Olsen as the Bears were getting in position for their third field goal.
Omar Gaither made a great play versus Bears on the goalline when closed on Chicago fullback Jason McKie to keep him out of the end zone.
Sean Considine has to learn to run through a ball carrier when he tries to tackle him. I have never seen a guy get run over as much as Considine. Where did he learn that jump tackle he tried on Muhsin Muhammad? That was one of the worst tackles I have ever seen in my life.
Eagles cornerbacks Sheldon Brown and Lito Sheppard both missed quarterback sacks by jumping as they approached Bears quarterback Brian Griese. These could have been big plays for the Birds. Griese one of them which led to a field goal.
You could see how foolish it was for the Eagles to pass on Bears tight end Greg Olsen. The rookie is 6’5” and runs routes like a wide receiver. You could see the way the Bears utilize him that he’s going to be one of those special tight ends who creates match up problems all over the field and especially in the red zone.
The Bears almost cost themselves the game by blowing two time outs on their last drive of the 3rd quarter. They had to call a time out because Devin Hester didn’t know where to line up. Also, before a field goal attempt they had to call a timeout because Desmond Clark, the wing back on their field goal unit forgot to stay in the game.
Did you check out Robbie Gould’s final field goal which hit one of the goal posts and went through?
Sav Rocca had some terrible punts while trying to keep the ball away from Devin Hester. He did nail the last one and put the ball out of bounds on the Bears three yard line.
