Eagles Get MLB Mays In The Sixth

The Eagles have selected North Dakota middle linebacker Joe Mays.

This guy is built like a sledgehammer.  I don't know if he can play but I know that he'll have leverage of most of his opponents.  He stands 5'11" and weighs 245 pounds.

He shares something in common with Eagles quarterback Dononvan McNabb, he's from Chicago, Illinois.

Here are Andy Reid's comments on the youngster.

"Joe Mays, a linebacker out of North Dakota State. He’s a short, stocky linebacker who made a tremendous amount of plays. He really jumped out at you when you watch film on him, even though it’s a little bit of a smaller school. We felt that he was a really exciting player to have."

"I'm just excited, that's the only word that can express what I'm feeling right now. This has been a dream of mine all my life to get a chance to play in the NFL. The funny thing of it is, the Philadelphia Eagles have been a favorite team of mine for a long time." said Mays.

"I can't wait to get there. I just want to contribute to the team anyway I can."
